Zombie Walk 2009

This October was Lethbridge’s 3rd Annual Zombie Walk, and we had a great turnout despite the cold. Many people brought along their little zombies this year, so our efforts to stress it was a family event were definitely not in vain! This may be surprising since I love photographing zombies, but I’m not a big fan of zombie movies – I’ve only seen several! I just thrive on photographing unusual things, and zombies are so full of textures and character and a hunger for brains…

Cassandra did my makeup again this year. I met her at the first zombie walk because she had my favorite makeup, and we have become great friends (and her one of my favorite models) since then! When she answered her door this year, I was a little scared to come in…

Jeremy carved his face piece out of a full Styrofoam skull from Walmart, and also make Cassandra’s “guts” you see above. These two are missing their calling by not being in movie or stage makeup!

The parents taught their little zombies to attack anyone who wasn’t a zombie. I think they all got their daily servings of brains, which are really important for growing zombies.

This baby’s parents exclaimed, “Ah, zombies!” and thrust the stroller at us. This photo is misleading, because most of the time she was giggling like crazy when the zombies came at her!

Lethbridge’s The Phantom Creeps started out the after party at Slice.

John from the Brains and his wife Danielle working the merch table – they are one of my favorite couples. I have been online friends with Danielle for a very long time, but since she lives in Montreal and rarely tours with the guys, this was the first time I got to meet her!

The Grave Mistakes

We were so lucky to have the Brains play for us a third year in a row!

Even though I was there taking photos, I had to dress up too! I went as Zombie Gaga, since I’m a little obsessed with Lady Gaga these days! You will only ever see me as a blonde if I have this wig on…

I am so overjoyed to see my face as the first image of this blog. I’m not sure if I should be proud of that gory face or not but it looks so delicious. I only hope we get an even better turn out in 2010. (Now I just have to figure out how to top the skull face). Thank you tanya for running such an amazing gong show. :)
