Waterton Autumn Engagement Photos [Erik & Alena]

Erik and Alena split their engagement portraits into two sessions so they could capture both winter and autumn in the mountains. Their winter photos proved to be a challenge when we had a snow-free February and now that it came time for the autumn session, we almost got snow! (The snow literally came the next day.) I think we’ll have better luck getting the correct weather for their upcoming summer wedding ;)

This time around we did Waterton autumn engagement photos and I was happy they braved the rain as I dragged them around the town site. I think the speed with which we ran around distracted them from the all the wind and dampness and better let them focus on being so cute together and having fun!

The leaves were so incredibly vibrant! We had just enough shelter from the wind for this to work :)

Erik and Alena didn’t believe me when I warned them in advance how windy the bluff behind the Prince of Wales Hotel would be, but as soon as we got out of our vehicles (and nearly fell over) they definitely understood! The secret is to time the photo just right so Alena’s hair is mostly in the right direction and her dress is still in place ;)

They brought their cute dog Charlie on the trip and he was so happy to get some photo time too!

I’m glad the bears finally picked all the berries clean out of this area so we could go there. It’s one of my favorite spots in the park, but it’s also a bear favorite!
