Night To Shine 2018 in Lethbridge

Night to Shine 2018 in Lethbridge at the Victory Church

Night to Shine is a huge party held for special needs people so they can feel like celebrities! From the moment they enter on the red carpet, they are met by the paparazzi and cheering fans. Once inside, they are treated to complimentary hairdressers, makeup artists, shoe shines, delicious food, and endless dancing. The event is only held in select cities so it was wonderful to have it in Lethbridge for 2018!

Myself and several other photographers volunteered our services for the evening. Once the limo rides (graciously donated by California Dream Limo) started up, I was on limo duty and had so much fun cruising around the parking lot with everyone! Back inside, the dance floor was constantly packed right up until the last song. I loved seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces!

Lethbridge Live Music Performance Photos [Rockuronium]

Lethbridge band photos of Rockuronium

Rockuronium had a special live music performance at a party for many of their friends and peers, and their guitar player treated them to some live band photography! I love how the band gives all the members a time to shine. Despite there being so many people on stage, they frequently took turns singing and rotating members to the front. The band is totally made up of doctors and health care workers and their name is a medical pun – I always appreciate a good pun! :) I loved being able to crash the party and watch them perform.

Be sure to check out Rockuronium on Facebook to see when they’re performing next!

Lethbridge Zombie Walk 2017

Lethbridge Zombie Walk 2017 in Galt Gardens

The last few zombie walks have taken place on Saturdays during wedding season so I’ve missed way too many of them. This year it took place on my first Saturday off! The compromise is that it was late in the fall and it was COLD. Despite the wind, the turn out was pretty great and we all had fun “attacking” the victims who came to watch :)

A huge thanks to Katt Panic for organizing the event this year!

Lethbridge Canada 150 Celebration

This year I had the pleasure of photographing the Lethbridge Canada 150 Celebration for the City of Lethbridge. Most of the festivities were held at Henderson Lake, with special performances from local acrobats, fire spinners, and other performers. Leading up to the fireworks, Five Alarm Funk and Dan Davidson were headliners on the main stage. Here are some of my favorite images from the day, but I’m sure you’ll see more on the city’s social media accounts!

2017 Lethbridge MS Walk

2017 Lethbridge MS Walk

It was fantastic to return to volunteering for the 2017 Lethbridge MS Walk in support of funding for multiple sclerosis research, held by the Lethbridge MS Society. This year it was held at Henderson Lake instead of the river bottom, and what a fantastic day to hold it! They are normally worried about snow and instead were greeted with a beautiful, calm sunny day.

This year we were able to split up duties so I could focus on candid photos of the walk itself. One of the kind volunteers carted me around Henderson Lake in a golf cart all morning :)

Thank you to everyone who walked and helped raise money! There was another great turnout this year.

CNIB Night Steps Lethbridge Fundraiser

It was an honor to photograph the CNIB Night Steps Lethbridge fundraiser held at Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens this month. CNIB is a great organization that provides services for the visually impaired and the walk is held at night to represent blindness for all participants. The organization chose to have the very first Alberta Night Steps in Lethbridge and they pulled off a really great event.

In addition to the walk, there were addresses by Mayor Spearman and MLA Maria Fitzpatrick, as well as a performance by Lethbridge taiko group Hibikiya and other activities at the gardens.
