Jan and I can never seem to get our schedules to match anymore, so it’s always a treat on the rare occasions we can work together! I was able to second shoot for her at Seth and Ashley’s wedding, out on his family’s farm near Vauxhall. What a perfect way to end wedding season! Kallie and Wallie were married at the Coast Hotel (where they also partied later that night) on the cusp of autumn, and lucky for us it stopped raining and we had a beautiful day. These two are so freaking fun; Wallie used to be a wrestler so he’s constantly performing, and Kallie is pretty good at keeping up with him! On top of that, I can’t get over how cute they are – c’mon, even their names match. I often found myself teary-eyed along with them because their stories were so sweet and the happy emotions were so high. It felt much more like spending the day with friends than working :) (more…)
Attila and Chaylene were married this month in a romantic ceremony at the Lethbridge Lodge, which their family traveled across Canada to attend. They were absolutely adorable with how in love they are; halfway through the vows, they got so emotional that they had to pause for a hug! It was a beautiful day and everything went perfectly how they planned it. And what an easy day for me; they are ridiculously photogenic! (more…)
Alex and Todd had a beautiful, intimate wedding with only their immediate family at the ceremony and then a party for more of their friends and family in the evening. Todd’s grandmother, Vivian, though unable to speak due to illness, was at times the life of the party – grinning wildly, enjoying champagne, and constantly giving her thumbs up when things were wonderful to her. She was such a ham in front of the camera, it was hard to get candid photos of her! The whole day was beautiful and romantic, and there was so much happiness and love among everyone. (more…)
What a treat to do this wedding! I’ve casually known Kim for quite a few years now, but we were more online friends even though we lived in the same city. Then she moved away, and met Peter, and fell in love! I was a little gushy to learn that they met on an online dating site because (1) that’s a great way to fall for someone’s personality first, and (2) that’s how Cam and I met :)
Though the two are based out of Calgary/Edmonton now, they wanted to have a cute small town wedding and spent many months looking for just the right place. They settled on Rosebud, Alberta, which is pretty much the cutest small town I have ever seen. Everything is extremely well maintained and it has a thriving art scene despite being nearly in the middle of no where. As luck would have it, some classic car enthusiasts were having a get together in Rosebud that day and offered their chauffeur services at no charge. So generous!
Since Peter is an actor and both are huge music enthusiasts, their intimate wedding was full of artists, actors, and musicians (my kind of people!) and everyone was so warm and generous that it didn’t take long for me to feel like family. I had so much fun with everyone, for as you will see, they don’t take everything quite so seriously… :) (more…)
Jacob and Bryanne were married last week at Maranatha Reformed Church and had a beautiful wedding on an absolutely beautiful day. These two are super hot and were a dream to work with, and it doesn’t hurt that they are both so sweet :)
Since they were married on the west side and we had a lot of ideas to fit in, we did all the formals on that side of Lethbridge. I always feel like the west side doesn’t have enough locations, but with some special permissions her mom dug up and a few neat little nooks, we totally rocked it! (Although the bridal party was genuinely confused at first to be taken to Taco Bell.)
