Lethbridge’s most recent zombie walk was yet again a huge success! This year the weather was gorgeous so there were more summer themed zombies, and as usual the makeup and costumes were so impressive! It’s great that so many adults and children can get together and have such a great time while shuffling along and eating brains :) I love when spectators pull their cars over to watch and participate when all the zombies attack them! This year’s zombie walk in Lethbridge was a huge success! We had a fantastic turnout, decent weather, and super creative costumes as always. The walk took around two hours this year, and we only lost a few of the undead along the way. While some living citizens pretended they didn’t see us, a few played along by parking near us and screaming in their cars, and a few local business employees could be seen mouthing, “OH MY GOD,” through the window as we walked by.

It is finally time for another zombie pinup! This was the first one that made use of two lovely undead models: Karla, my first ever zombie, and Beth, whom I had met at the zombie walk this last year. We went with a bar wench theme, and Jesse from The Slice graciously donated the space for a couple hours that afternoon for us to cover the place in fake blood. Also a big thank you to Sarah who made their skin look delightfully gross, even though her proper stage makeup was out of town!

This October was Lethbridge’s 3rd Annual Zombie Walk, and we had a great turnout despite the cold. Many people brought along their little zombies this year, so our efforts to stress it was a family event were definitely not in vain! This may be surprising since I love photographing zombies, but I’m not a big fan of zombie movies – I’ve only seen several! I just thrive on photographing unusual things, and zombies are so full of textures and character and a hunger for brains… (more…)
It’s been a while, but here is my first zombie pinup of the year! Between the great locations, Starsha’s excellent modeling, and not having done one in a while, it was really hard to narrow these photos down!
Starsha has several pet cockroaches, and we made use of them for the last portion of the shoot. They are actually pretty laid back creepy crawlies, but when we would put them on her they would make a run for it. We ended up having to only use one so they didn’t get lost in the field (because that would just suck for EVERYONE), and I multiplied it afterward. If you are absolutely terrified of cockroaches, it is the last photo, so you are safe to scroll through the 16 that come before it.
When I first arranged this shoot with Starsha, Hope Litwin had recently done a little personal assignment, Project: Norma Jean, recreating Marilyn Monroe’s ballerina photo. I found out Starsha had an orange tu-tu, so Project: Zomba Jean was born…
I just wanted to leave a quick note to say I am featured this month on the Portuguese photography site Pontos de Vista for my zombie photos. Woot!
