Cat available for adoption in Lethbridge, Alberta at the Last Chance Cat Ranch

More kitties! The Lethbridge Last Chance Cat Ranch recently received some additions and I got to come out for more cat cuddles and photograph them. A few were quite shy at first, but with our persistence they quickly learned they could get lots of head scratches! I also got to meet an adorable set of four kittens who were being shown at Pet Valu for the day! All of these cats are available through the Last Chance Cat Ranch and are very deserving of good homes. (more…)

Cat available for adoption in Lethbridge, Alberta at the Last Chance Cat Ranch

I love helping abandoned animals find homes, and there are a lot of cats currently in need. Winter is always rough on strays, so if any of these cats can find homes, it helps free up space for even more cats that need a family of their own! I recently visited one foster location of the Last Chance Cat Ranch here in Lethbridge and got to spend the morning getting lots of love from a room full of friendly cats. They were all so sweet and are definitely deserving of good homes.

If any of these cats really tug at your heart strings, contact Last Chance Cat Ranch for more info!

On to the kitties! (more…)

Lethbridge World AIDS Day 2012

This year I had the honor of photographing the World AIDS Day event held by the Lethbridge HIV Connection in Galt Gardens. People gathered together to form a human ribbon, illuminated only by candles (such a wonderful idea!). Despite it being a little chilly the turn out was great, and I got to crash the fashion show at the SAAG in my full winter attire, climb through a little trap door, and take the photo from the SAAG’s roof… not your typical Friday night! The wind made the candle-lit ribbon short lived, but it turned out great despite that :) (more…)

Coulee Carnage: Hammer Out MS | Warhammer Tournament

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

I have a feeling most of the people reading this blog don’t know what Warhammer is, and honestly, I don’t know much about it myself ;) (basically it’s a tabletop fantasy strategy war game, but Wikipedia does a better job describing it). The important thing, though, is that some guys here in Lethbridge got together and organized a weekend Warhammer tournament in efforts to raise money for MS. They had a killer turnout, and all together they raised $5000 for the MS Society! They got some great media coverage for the event, Coulee Carnage, and are going to run it again next year. I’m sure they will easily top that amount on the next one. Great works, guys! (more…)

Camouflage dogs!

Another set of AARCS dogs who were available for adoption are brother and sister puppies Pokey and Rodeo, who live in Pincher Creek with their foster family. Photographing them was like working with little humans – they have so much energy when they are young so it takes lots of patience and chasing! I had to be careful not to get too close to the puppies because they thought that meant it was time for hugs, not posing for photos :) If it weren’t for my lens hood I would have had many nose prints on my glass! I’m so happy to announce that Pokey has already been adopted too! (more…)
