The Korver family brought together their three generations for one large session and we lucked out with one last beautiful Saturday! I’m glad I brought Cam along to take candids while I was busy posing the groups, because the little cousins love the big cousins and everyone was in such good spirits :)

Jonathan and Valerie met up with me on what was probably the last hot day of the year for some engagement photos. They were total naturals in front of the camera (Jonathan’s perfectly placed hand in the pocket? That’s all him.) so they were super fun to work with. Congratulations on your engagement!

What a perfect way to end wedding season! Kallie and Wallie were married at the Coast Hotel (where they also partied later that night) on the cusp of autumn, and lucky for us it stopped raining and we had a beautiful day. These two are so freaking fun; Wallie used to be a wrestler so he’s constantly performing, and Kallie is pretty good at keeping up with him! On top of that, I can’t get over how cute they are – c’mon, even their names match. I often found myself teary-eyed along with them because their stories were so sweet and the happy emotions were so high. It felt much more like spending the day with friends than working :)

They were so emotional during the ceremony that *I* could barely even keep it together! :)

I had the nephews rough up Wallie, but Addie wanted to take part too!

Alex and Todd had a beautiful, intimate wedding with only their immediate family at the ceremony and then a party for more of their friends and family in the evening. Todd’s grandmother, Vivian, though unable to speak due to illness, was at times the life of the party – grinning wildly, enjoying champagne, and constantly giving her thumbs up when things were wonderful to her. She was such a ham in front of the camera, it was hard to get candid photos of her! The whole day was beautiful and romantic, and there was so much happiness and love among everyone.

They had their small ceremony on the balcony at the Lethbridge Lodge.

Almost every groom spends the rest of the day fidgeting with the ring. It’s like clockwork :)

Nicholas Sheran Lake is one of Alex’s favorite places in Lethbridge so we made sure to take lots of photos there.

While Alex and Todd shared their first dance, their guests stayed close to their tables rather than crowding the dance floor. It gave me a clean view out of the corner of my eye of Alex’s parents, and I was able to catch this kiss.

The lack of crowding also let me include her mom in the father-daughter dance :)

However, this is the most difficult wedding I have had to post, for even though the wedding was so full of love, it would end with sadness.

A few days after the wedding, Alex tragically lost her father. I am so thankful to have been able to capture such beautiful images of their family interacting that day – the love between her mom and dad, how proud he looked that his daughter was getting married.

When Alex got ready that day, we did something a little unconventional. The light was nicest in her living room, where her father and brother sat waiting for the drive to the ceremony. Alex was happy to take my suggestion to finish lacing her dress and adding the finishing touches in that room, even though there usually aren’t any guys watching these things happen. At the time I had no idea how important it would be to capture the image of her father watching her and her sister.

I hope that in time they can look back at their wedding day and cherish the memories of these beautiful moments they all shared together, and let the happiness overcome the sadness. My thoughts are with the family.

Chris and Sheana were married in Pavan Park on an absolutely beautiful, sunny day with their closest friends and family in attendance. Jan and I got to spend a few hours with them that day and we had a great time!

Everytime I’ve met with Chris and Sheana, I’ve been so impressed with how exceptionally nice they are. And when they are together and can be all lovey, they are so absolutely sweet. They are just such a perfect match! I’m so glad I was able to share your day with you :)

I gave Sheana advice so that she didn’t need “assistance” from the girls, ha ha :)

With a lack of flower girl and only moments left before the wedding, they needed help putting out the flowers. As everyone giggled and called him the flower girl (and Jan and I snapped away), he moaned and exclaimed, “I hear so many shutters going!”

Their ring bearer Keadyn had no trouble making it to the front because he was excited to see his dad who was one of the groomsmen.

They had their dogs, Meka and Gypsy, as members of the bridal party. I love when people include the pups!

Working with dogs needs to be a quick thing. ;)

Kayli graduated high school in Bow Island this weekend and I joined her for a few hours to take photos of her in her dress with her family and her boyfriend Taylor. And what a dress! I might be biased because my favorite color is purple, but it was pretty awesome :)

It was so fun to do photos in a brand new place and I always love doing photos in small towns because you can find some great old buildings with lots of character. Almost all of the photos were taken right downtown! Kayli also found a great old farm house for us to use, and I’m thrilled she was so dedicated to the art… we had to carefully step over a LOT of cow poop to do photos in there! She was so fun and laid back, making my ideas super easy to pull off. Aside from the mosquitoes (and Taylor and Kayli having to constantly slap them off each other), we had a beautiful day and the rain held back just long enough.

I love that her family was color-coordinated to her dress :)
