I finally got to meet little Eva! I am photographing her mom and dad’s wedding this July and over the last few months I have heard lots about her… and she is such a sweet baby! She was pretty patient with us even though it was so hot and modeling can be quite tiring. Eventually she let us know she was done, and totally zonked out for the last few photos :)
I will be seeing Chris, Alisa, and Eva again very soon! (more…)
I started off the gorgeous weekend with an engagement session for a really fun couple from Fort McLeod, Meghan and Randy. These two were so sweet together and it was easy to see how well they compliment each other. I’d also like to point out how well coordinated they were! They were great sports to climb through all the prickly things we ventured through, and it all totally paid off. I got carried away and took way more photos than I normally do at a session… it’s their fault for being so cute!
Last weekend I visited the Crowsnest Pass for a very special wedding. Jen and Mark, high school sweethearts, finally tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in our hometown. I am so proud of Jen and Mark for getting to this point in their lives… Not many high school romances make it this far, and it makes me so happy to see theirs come all this way! I have known everyone in the bridal party since I was in grade 9 (and Maid of Honor, Tricia, since grade 6!) so it was so amazing to spend this important day with them all.
I hadn’t seen a few members of the bridal party since high school, so it was a bit of a shock to see how much everyone had changed! Okay, it hasn’t been that long since high school, but everyone is all grown up now! Except me, I never want to grow up ;) I can also confidently say Tricia doesn’t want to grow up either… so I guess we aren’t all that grown up after all. Furthermore, the reception was like a high school dance; Jen and Tricia were my usual dance escorts back in the day, and it was awesome to experience the old days again. (Remember the Venga Boys? I had entirely blocked that part of my life out until the reception… hehe)
I’ve gotten a little desensitized to wedding emotions after shooting so many, but I still get really emotional when it’s for friends. This was such an amazing day to be a part of, and for that I am very grateful. Jen and Mark, thank you for having me there and trusting me to do your photos :)

I’m starting to see why wedding photographers stop posting blogs during wedding season, but I vowed to keep up with these! As long as I make it before the next weekend I am happy :) The problem this week is that Al and Lindsay were so cute AND had me booked for longer, so I had so many great shots to sort through! Their fun attitude lent itself well to a lot of great photos.
Lindsay and Al chose to see each other before everyone else was around and do the photos as the first part of the day, allowing them to be totally ready to party once the ceremony was done and the tables rolled out. I love being there to capture when the couple sees each other for the first time all done up; there is always such a look of awe and appreciation they give each other.
I loved being a part of their day. The bridal party was a riot (I had to be told a few times not to encourage certain members by laughing at their crude jokes!) and we had a beautiful sunny day to work with. Late last year I shot his brother Tyler’s wedding (who was in the bridal party this time around), and it makes it so much easier (and fun!) when you already know a chunk of the family; at the very least, it saves me from calling a few extra people “hey you!” throughout the day ;)
A big thank you again to Michael for assisting! He had lights out and ready to go when I needed them!
This Saturday I shot the wedding of the oh-so-gorgeous Candace and Shane, once again with Michael in tow as my backup shooter. I have to admit, it was a bit of a challenge shooting this as I’m still recovering from pneumonia! Luckily my lungs cooperated, it was a gorgeous day, and Candace and Shane were SO easy to work with. They are such a laid back couple and they looked absolutely stunning. The details they put into their wedding were so beautiful (especially Candace’s fitted dress) and I was so impressed that they put this whole thing together in only a couple months!
We started the day with an intimate ceremony at the Lethbridge Lodge, then journeyed out into the wind for photos, but by Lethbridge standards it was only a “breezy” day, so luckily no one blew into the coulee ;)
Last Saturday I had the honor of photographing Amber and Ian’s wedding (with Michael Warf as my second shooter) and we had a blast with this fun couple! They are so cute and I love their goofy senses of humor, which I haven’t been able to get enough of since I met them last year. I was sad to only have a limited amount of time to shoot them, but we worked quickly and did tons in that time. Amber was a natural in front of the camera, but I think Ian did just as awesome as her (and he had doubts, sheesh!).
