The rain forced us indoors, but we made the best of it! Last night I met Melanie from Photo Expressions and her fiancée Chad. The two of them are getting married in Vegas next year, and decided to start out the experience with a local engagement session. Melanie felt out of place since she is normally behind the camera, but they were total naturals in front of it. This weekend I got to meet Brina and Shaun and I had a great time with them doing their engagement photos! The two aren’t getting married until next year, but they wanted to make sure they had photos while everything is still such a luscious green from all the rain we’ve had. They brought along her mom’s sweet little doggies for some photos, which I love because even furry little animals count as your siblings if they belong to your mom :)

Not only were the pups easy to work with, but Brina and Shaun were a delight as well! Brina is pretty much always laughing (or smiling at the very least!) and Shaun has such a caring, calm nature to him. I didn’t have to work too hard to get them to laugh at me ;) (more…)

I started off the gorgeous weekend with an engagement session for a really fun couple from Fort McLeod, Meghan and Randy. These two were so sweet together and it was easy to see how well they compliment each other. I’d also like to point out how well coordinated they were! They were great sports to climb through all the prickly things we ventured through, and it all totally paid off. I got carried away and took way more photos than I normally do at a session… it’s their fault for being so cute!

Just before I went to Vegas, I did a pre-wedding photo session with Joan and Erwin that was way more in depth than their engagement shoot. I was so sad to be away for their wedding (which Jan shot in my place) so this took the place of the bridal photos we would have done that day. They both looked gorgeous, and I was thankful for our indoor locations because it was a bit chilly outside! We started in the beautiful Galt Museum, then went to Henotic Restaurant.

I am so happy with how this session turned out; I think it is one of my favorites. I think I was feeling inspired that Vegas was only two days away when I shot this!

Again, I am excited by the slideshow!

Last year I when I did the oh-so-cute wedding of Joel and Cel I was able to meet their wonderful circle of friends and family, and by autumn felt like a part of the family. Now it is such an honor to be working with Joan and Erwin who are a part of that circle and getting married next month. Today we met up to take some engagement photos, and I had a blast with them (and they are just as cute and fun as the others are!). It was a gorgeous day, and I got to try out my new (awesome) wide angle lens once we went downtown.
