I met Kara and Mitch almost two years ago when I photographed their wedding, and I was able to visit them again to welcome little Liam into the world! He was so teeny tiny and bendy so he was a dream to work with… or at least until he had a little “accident” ;) Kara and Mitch are going to be awesome parents and I’m excited to see their family grow. Valerie and Jonathan, who you might remember from their engagement session last autumn, had an intimate wedding in Cuba this winter and then returned for an evening reception with their local friends and family. Cam and I came along to capture the spirit of the event and take some family photos, since most of their family had been unable to attend the wedding itself.
They held their wedding reception in the Coaldale Community Hall, which is just so delightfully white and crisp looking – a gorgeous contrast to their purple wedding colors. Everyone was a lot of fun and let me kidnap them for most of the time for photos :) (more…)
Stetson came to Lethbridge for his very first photos, joined by his mom and dad and super-adorable-curly-haired sister Cass. He’s growing quickly, but luckily still fit in his dad’s cowboy hat :) He was such an easy going baby that we were able to fly through the session! (more…)
Tawnia and Chance contacted me a few days before their last minute Waterton wedding, and I jumped at the opportunity. I love surprises like that! Plus I was already biased to like her since her name is so close to mine :)
They had their ceremony at the Waterton Lakes Resort, and with it being off season in the town, we had full run of the venue and the entire townsite.
However, the weather in Waterton was a little less than desirable. After a beautiful sunny drive in, I was shocked to arrive to a blizzard, with blowing snow and white out conditions! Very few of the mountains were even visible from within the town, which says a lot when the town is at the base of the mountains.
After we did the family photos indoors, we braved the snow for the outdoor photos they really wanted in spite of the weather. These were tricky because when the wind blew, I couldn’t even see them! Tawnia was super brave going outside with bare arms, and she barely showed her discomfort (I think Chance looked more cold than she did, hehe!). It was worth all the pain!
All of their closest friends and family were in attendance at their beautiful, intimate wedding and despite the weather outside, it was a perfect day :) (more…)
Henry, Anna, and Eddie’s mom and dad brought them out one afternoon for their first professional sibling photos they’ve ever had. What a cute family! They were so much fun; Henry was very inquisitive about my camera, Anna kept pulling out adorable poses without prompts, and Eddie kept me on my toes by crying any time he wasn’t in physical contact with his mom (but boy did we trick him!). This was such a fun session to do because I met Natasha and Annabree many years ago and they have now decided to expand their family to include not just a bunny, but a baby! (Hopefully their pet bunny won’t be too jealous.) They are both radiating with happiness and even though Natasha is very ready for the baby to arrive, she is in great spirits about the whole thing :) I can’t wait to meet the baby! (more…)
