Fun Lethbridge weddings and portrait photography

For her parents’ 50th anniversary, each of Susan’s siblings were having a special family portrait session done on their “home turf.” We wanted something that screamed “Lethbridge” for Susan’s family and the coulees, Indian Battle Park, and High Level Bridge were a perfect fit to capture the feel of Lethbridge! Her, Craig, and their three energetic girls joined me just as spring started to make its arrival. After all of the rain, the grass was popping with green and the first tree buds were starting to appear.

This family is so wonderful and fun to watch! They are all so happy together and constantly joking and laughing, and I loved how adventurous the girls were, whether it meant climbing on the bridge trellises or on mom and dad!

River Bottom Autumn Engagement Photos [Juliane & Mathias]

river bottom autumn engagement photos

Juliane is currently studying in Lethbridge after coming all the way from Germany and had a special visit from her fiancée Mathias for a few days to check out Southern Alberta. They took advantage of his visit to sneak in some pictures and we headed to Indian Battle Park for their river bottom autumn engagement photos. Juliane wanted a background that was defining of her stay in Lethbridge so the high level bridge and coulees were a perfect fit! Even though the leaves were gone, the grass had such gorgeous golden colors.

The two were so happy to finally be together again that I felt a little bad to steal away a bit of their alone time! I’m sure they can’t wait till this semester is over so they can get ready for their wedding in Germany next year. :)

Early Spring Coulee Portraits [Jenae & Derrick]

Early spring coulee portraits with dogs

Jenae and Derrick brought along their gorgeous blonde dogs for some early spring coulee portraits this April in Indian Battle Park here in Lethbridge. It took two tries… our first scheduled day saw rain and we decided to postpone, so of course that meant the rain totally cleared up in time for when the photos would have been! It was all for the best though because we did early evening portraits instead and the light was absolutely beautiful. All of the golden colors of the sun and grass perfectly complimented Jenae’s long blonde hair and, of course, the fur of their golden retrievers!

Derrick and Jenae are so sweet together and are a really laid back couple. You can tell it’s not just in front of the camera because their dogs Ayisha and Nala also radiate this calmness. It was so easy taking their photos! :)

Snowy Lethbridge engagement photos

After lots of wedding planning phone calls, I finally got to meet Oscar and Michelle for their snowy Lethbridge engagement photos and had such a great time with them! They are so sweet together and I was surprised that they’ve been dating for 7 years; their love feels so fresh and new.

They drove down for the afternoon for their photos and we started in Indian Battle Park to take advantage of the fresh, untouched snow. However, it was pretty chilly so we quickly rushed over to Casa to finish the photos!

They were total naturals in front of the camera, but I’m not sure if they realize that themselves because they kept checking with me to see how they were doing! They are just so comfortable together that they naturally fell into each others arms in just the right way.

I can’t wait for their Crowsnest Pass mountain wedding this spring!

Happy grandparent & grandchildren portraits in Lethbridge

Mayte and I see each other all the time for photos. She is a regular foster mom for the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society so I often get to have fun puppy play dates with her. Even though I’ve spent lots of time doing photos with Mayte for all of the puppies she fosters, this was the very first time her and her family got to be the subjects! We did their joyful, happy grandparent and grandchildren portraits in Lethbridge early in the winter in the not-yet-snowy Indian Battle Park.

Mayte, her husband George, and their dog Tango met me for photos on their own to start off their session. They managed to get some romantic cuddle time in even with Tango running around like crazy. Once we were finished with the photos of the couple and their pup, we were then joined by their four adorable grandchildren. They were so much fun to work with and I think Tango loved his adventure because he managed to find some pretty big sticks in the river bottom! (more…)

Lethbridge convocation and graduation photography, girl with family

Paige graduated from the criminal justice program here in Lethbridge and wanted a keepsake with her family to celebrate her time in Lethbridge before she heads back home. Her and her family were so much fun, and her boyfriend was SUCH a great sport to do the last photo in this set :)

Good luck on your new career, Paige! (more…)
