The Pollock Family – Lethbridge Family Photos

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

Last week, Cassandra rounded up her parents and sister for a long overdue family photography session (they hadn’t had one since the girls were quite young). It was an excellent time of year as I love red hair against autumn colors, though I must admit it was strange to photograph Cassandra in such normal circumstances; no zombie makeup, outrageous outfits, or hanging from strange structures, just natural photos for once!

I’ve been around the Pollock family on numerous occassions, but it wasn’t until our photo session that I truly realized just how silly they all are. If you are looking for “traditional” family photos, you came to the wrong place… (more…)

Don and Anna’s Wedding, Lethbridge

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

I only became involved in Don and Anna’s wedding one week before it happened, and I’m so glad I was free that day because I had such a fantastic time with them! They had an intimate ceremony at St. Pat’s Church, which was full of endless cute and sweet moments, and despite a forecast calling for rain or snow, we ended up with gorgeous weather for their outdoor photos. They were both natural supermodels and I hardly had to provide any direction at all during the photo session. I spent most of our time together giggling at their antics; I love when people are willing to act silly :) (more…)

Jeremy and Phoebe at the Lethbridge bridge

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Jeremy contacted me with a top-secret plan: to surprise his girlfriend Phoebe with a sunset photography session at the location where they first met each other several months earlier. After much plotting, we decided he would make fake dinner plans with her that required her to dress nice and arrive in time for their “reservation,” while he arranged a bit of a detour to come meet me at the bridge. He did a fantastic job of keeping the secret, and she didn’t know what was going on until their car pulled up next to mine and he explained it to her!

I had a fantastic time working with the two of them (despite Jeremy’s bleeding “injury” on his ear) and we picked a perfect evening for the session. Phoebe especially had a fantastic smile the whole evening from the shock of the surprise! (more…)

The Bridge Centennial Lighting

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

On September 5th the city commemorated the centennial anniversary of our famous high level bridge by shining a bunch of bright lights on it. Though in person it was a bit of a disappointment, it gave every photographer in town an awesome subject :)

More after the jump…

Julie & Chad

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

I always say how much I love working with people multiple times, and Julie and Chad are no exception. The last time I saw them was when Eric and Chad’s sister Ashley got married, and this time around the couples switched roles. The weather was considerably better than the last time so we were able to spend quite a bit more time playing outside. I had so much fun with all of them, and I loved how open everyone was to anything.

Julie and Chad are so sweet together and made my job totally easy :)

I get one more round with Julie soon when her friend Chelsey (the slightly taller bridesmaid here) gets married, and I’m so excited to work with those girls again.

Oh, and there are a LOT of photos after the cut! The further along this summer goes, the harder a time I am having narrow the photos down for blogs!

The Cowie Family

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

This last Sunday the rain stopped and the sky cleared up just in time for photos with the Cowies! In celebration of mom and dad’s 40th wedding anniversary, all of the “kids” got together for a special family session, and I had a great time shooting this awesome family!

Hands down, my favorite member of the family was Lola, who had a pink collar that perfectly matched her “mom’s” Converse shoes :)
