Indoor Family Christmas Photos [Elora, Thomas & Darby]

indoor family Christmas photos

It was great to see Elora, Darby and Thomas again for their indoor family Christmas photos at their home in Lethbridge. This will be the last family session with just the three of them as they are welcoming baby number two into the house in a couple months. Thomas joked that not only have I documented their family growing, I have also documented his hair growing! I insisted he better have a waist length beard the next time they do family photos ;)

Elora was adorable in her pretty red dress, which looked so great against their Christmas tree. She was so tolerant of all the silly ways we were propping her up but when she did get fussy, a little bit of singing from her dad and cuddles from mom cheered her right back up.

Crowsnest Pass Baby Girl Session [Fleurie]

Crowsnest Pass baby girl session

It was wonderful to meet Fleurie for her Crowsnest Pass baby girl session! We didn’t get to spend part of the session outdoors in the mountains as we hoped for thanks to the rain, but I got to hang out with her and her parents at home under the supervision of their dog Gus. (Gus doesn’t show up in these photos but he’ll be in their eventual outdoor family photos.) Fleurie was a little uncertain about what was going on and needed frequent bouncing breaks, but we managed to say just the right things to her in between crying for her to switch to her curious face. Her mom and dad learned a few new things about her that day, like that she LOVES soothers and that she is much happier if she gets to lay angled upside down.

Natural Crowsnest Pass newborn photography, baby in basket looking with big blue eyes

Cruz is baby #1 for his mom and dad and is being totally spoiled with lots of love and cuddles! I went to visit them in the Crowsnest Pass for Cruz’s very first baby photos and he was quite the little model. At only one month old, he can already hold his head up and seemed to know how to stare directly at the camera with his big blue eyes. His parents have such great senses of humor and even though he’s soooo little, I’m sure it’s already rubbing off on him!

This session was one of Cruz’s very first baby gifts (before he even arrived!) and I am so glad their friend introduced us through photos. (more…)

Extended Family Christmas Photos [The Major Family]

Lethbridge extended family Christmas photos

It means so much when families invite me into their homes during their limited reunion time together. The Major family had all of their children and grandchildren down in Lethbridge for the holidays and decided it was a great time to get some extended family Christmas photos. This family is hilarious and I loved all the goofy photos they wanted to do (each serious photo needed a goofy equivalent, of course!). Their interactions are so amazing and they really feed off each other’s creative energy.

Lethbridge Indoor Autumn Family Photos [Bernie & Barbara]

Lethbridge indoor autumn family photos

I can’t believe how much Annelies has grown! It feels like just yesterday we did her one year photos but she just recently celebrated her second birthday. Her grandma and grandpa were excited to get the whole family together for portraits that week in Lethbridge. We started out with their indoor autumn family photos to avoid the leftover chill that hung around from the day before, plus to get a few photos in peace from the usual Lethbridge wind :) Their wardrobe color scheme looked so great in Markin Hall at the university!

Annelies had so much fun being the center of attention and especially loved getting chased by her dad when she tried to run away. Barbara and Bernie love doting on their granddaughter and she had the biggest smiles the whole time. She’s such a well behaved two year old that it was even easier to photograph her now than when she was one! Maybe she just hasn’t learned the word “no” yet ;)

Casa Indoor Kids Portraits [Stefan]

CASA indoor kids portraits

Each winter for the past few years I have photographed Stefan as he turns one year older and I can never believe how much he has grown since the last time I saw him. Even though he has gotten a little more shy, he has kept his goofy personality and is awesome at making silly faces. This year we chose to do Casa indoor kids portraits to keep out of the wind where he was able to show me his superhero moves.
