Last week I had the priviledge of attending DrupalCon Chicago, a nearly week long conference dedicated to my favorite CMS, Drupal (it’s what I use the most to build websites, and since I’ve only been using it for a little over two years I still have a ton to learn). I went with U of L web guys Trevor and Wesley. I have a lot of photos I want to post, so I’ll be breaking this into three blogs over the next few days. (more…)

The other day I happened to catch this on my way to run some errands. This was a few hours before the huge mass of fog we had come in, and it was neat to see it starting in the setting sun. I’ve done tons of photos of Sarah with her horses before, but usually with her in a dress! She finally wanted some “normal” photos, so we set out with her tall horse Santana to get a few images of her riding him just before sunset. It was probably one of the last few “warm” evenings of the year and we were especially fortunate to chose the night that had the most gorgeous sunset all week! We did quite a few regular riding photos, but I had the most fun when I spun her around and pointed my camera into the lowering sun. (more…)

This hoarfrost stuff may look pretty and very awesome, but don’t let it fool you! It is evil! Is summer soon? I miss the days of +30C weather!
Usually this frost is gone by 9am, and I used to grumble as I groggily drove by it in the past on my way to work or school in the mornings, knowing that by the time I had a camera in hand it would be gone. In the last month, however, we’ve had these strange “fog storms” move in and freeze everything in sight, and this frost takes an exceptionally long time to melt, so I was finally able to capture some of it. Now that I’ve accomplished this, bring on the sunshine! (more…)
