children's Lethbridge indoor photo session

April contacted me with a fun top secret photo project: her children and nieces were going to surprise their grandma for Christmas with a collage of the four kids! The cousins got all fancied up and snuck away for their indoor photo session at the University of Lethbridge while they were visiting for Thanksgiving. They were so cute and each of them was so well behaved when it was their turn.

It was pretty cold that weekend so we mostly stuck inside (and enjoyed the fun elevator ride in between photos!) but the children were brave and whipped off their coats for a few quick photos in the autumn leaves.

West Lethbridge Fall Family Portraits [Annelies and her parents]

West Lethbridge fall family portraits

Every couple years I get to hang out with Annelies and see how big she’s getting! This year for her West Lethbridge fall family portraits she showed me all her new dance moves she’s learning and had a great time joking around with me. The absolute funniest thing to her was when we pretended the ducks outside got poop on my camera. Anything to get a smile!

Her mom is a huge Kill Bill fan and lightly worked that theme into their photos. She started with the iconic shoes and went with a vibrant yellow motif around them, and we recreated a few photos of Beatrix with her daughter BB. What a fun idea!

Extended Family Indoor Session in Lethbridge [Egidio & Betty Lou]

Lethbridge extended family indoor session

Egidio and Betty Lou had all of their family come down to visit for Easter and decided it would be a perfect time for an extended family indoor session (especially considering the crazy wind outside!). We escaped the breeze by going to the University of Lethbridge, a fitting location as most of the adult family members had attended school there at some point!

This group is a blended family, but you’d never know with how close they all are to each other. The cousins act more like a large group of siblings and the family is so caring and warm with each other, with a healthy dose of silly.

women's headshots in Lethbridge

Rachel was in need of some headshots for auditions. We were both available over the Christmas break so it was a perfect time, especially since we could make use of the whole University of Lethbridge while it was still open and hardly anyone was there! Rachel has such great different looks and I wish her luck at her future auditions :)

University of Lethbridge Graduation Photos [Michelle]

University of Lethbridge graduation photos

I started out the U of L grad week with the lovely Michelle who was celebrating her newly acquired degree! Michelle and her family came back to the city for her convocation and University of Lethbridge graduation photos. To avoid being rushed we did her session the night before grad, which I think was a fantastic move as convocation day is so crazy! Her mom and dad (mostly dad) tried their best to embarrass her during the photos but Michelle would have none of that ;) After her cap and gown photos around the university campus, we headed over to Aperture Park for more casual portraits. The rain tried to threaten us but instead we had a beautiful evening!

Lethbridge Indoor Autumn Family Photos [Bernie & Barbara]

Lethbridge indoor autumn family photos

I can’t believe how much Annelies has grown! It feels like just yesterday we did her one year photos but she just recently celebrated her second birthday. Her grandma and grandpa were excited to get the whole family together for portraits that week in Lethbridge. We started out with their indoor autumn family photos to avoid the leftover chill that hung around from the day before, plus to get a few photos in peace from the usual Lethbridge wind :) Their wardrobe color scheme looked so great in Markin Hall at the university!

Annelies had so much fun being the center of attention and especially loved getting chased by her dad when she tried to run away. Barbara and Bernie love doting on their granddaughter and she had the biggest smiles the whole time. She’s such a well behaved two year old that it was even easier to photograph her now than when she was one! Maybe she just hasn’t learned the word “no” yet ;)
