Leitch Collieries Engagement Session [Brittany & Donovan]

Leitch Collieries engagement session

I had an awesome time working with Brittany and Donovan and can’t wait to see how quirky their wedding will be! Since a mountain wedding would have been their second choice after Lethbridge, they met with me in the Crowsnest Pass for their Leitch Collieries engagement session and brought along their giant Bernese Mountain Dog, Murphy, who was on his best behavior for the whole shoot.

These two were awesome to work with and I loved that even when Brittany tried to be serious, she couldn’t resist smiling huge around Donovan. They have such a romantic feel around each other!

Elegant Crowsnest Pass Wedding [Jeff & Kayla]

Kayla & Jeff, elegant Crowsnest Pass wedding

Kayla and Jeff had a beautiful, elegant Crowsnest Pass wedding at the end of summer with so many well thought out details! The hints of pink, gold, and white throughout their day added perfect touches and I especially loved their matching balloons (a special thanks to the bridesmaids for inflating those before the ceremony!).

I love seeing how happy Kayla and Jeff are around each other and they were just as cuddly as at their winter engagement session, even though they didn’t need to keep each other warm this time!

They started their day with a ceremony at the Catholic Church in Blairmore and followed with a reception at the Coleman Sportsplex. They did a gorgeous job working their pink and gold colors into the decorations and candy/sundae bar, and you couldn’t recognize the venue as being a curling arena!

Congratulations, Kayla & Jeff!

Castle River Summer Wedding [Tricia & Colin]

Tricia & Colin, Castle River summer wedding

While I’ve photographed the weddings of many people I’ve gone to school with, Tricia’s was a special one seeing as how we’ve been friends since grade 6! From the moment she started talking about Colin, he seemed so perfect for her and I’m glad she agreed :)

Tricia and Colin held their Castle River summer wedding in the Crowsnest Pass area, starting in Coleman where Tricia grew up and working their way over to the Lundbreck area for the ceremony and reception later in the day. The Castle River Rodeo grounds were a beautiful location to hold their celebration, from their river side ceremony to their starlit open sky reception.

We had such an amazing and fun time with them! It’s so great to be able to spend such a special day with friends. (Cam and Colin have also had lots of time to bond over the last year since the couple were guests at a number of other weddings we photographed!)

Our friend Andrea at Elegant Weddings and Events (who was also in the wedding party!) did an amazing job coordinating the whole event.

Congratulations, Colin & Tricia!

Mountain Summer Wedding [Drew and Alyssa]

Drew and Alyssa, mountain Alberta summer wedding photos

Alyssa and Drew had such a beautiful wedding in Lethbridge surrounded by so much love from their families.

The couple originally wanted a mountain summer wedding but with so many relatives who couldn’t make the trip, they decided to keep the party in Lethbridge and just drive out to the mountains for their portraits in the afternoon. After a beautiful drive out to the Crowsnest Pass, Drew and Alyssa got to spend time in the forest and under the mountains, giving them the landscapes they love so much.

Alyssa is a very talented country singer so it was a natural fit for their wedding to have country-inspired themes and involve lots of music! Alyssa even performed at her own reception, which was such a fun touch. I’m so glad we could bring one of her guitars out for photos!

Congratulations, Drew & Alyssa!

Crowsnest Pass Winter Wedding [Michelle & Oscar]

Michelle & Oscar, Crowsnest Pass winter wedding

Michelle & Oscar traveled all the way from Calgary for their Crowsnest Pass “winter” wedding. It may have taken place in the spring, but it sure looked like winter! Just days before, and even the next day, the grass had been turning green and there were no more hints of winter. Out of no where came a heavy snowfall warning for all of southern Alberta. We definitely lucked out as a few places had more of a rainy snow, but the Crowsnest Pass looked like something out of a fairy tale. Plus, by the time we headed outside, most of the heavy snowfall had stopped, leaving only gorgeous snow covered landscapes.

The Crowsnest Pass was a perfect fit for their wedding as it allowed them to get married in the mountains and still include family in a special way. Their ceremony was performed at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Blairmore by Michelle’s uncle. It was an intimate ceremony with their closest friends and family. Their ceremony was so emotional and full of so many happy tears and laughter.

After the ceremony, we explored the Crowsnest Pass with Oscar and Michelle and their two friends. It was fun having another couple as their bridal party because I could get them to be all cute and intimate too (normally that would be a little awkward!). They were so much fun and I loved all of the excitement they expressed over the landscapes. I sometimes take it for granted having grown up there, but they reminded me just how beautiful it is!

Oscar and Michelle are so sweet together and I know they are going to have such a happy life.

Congratulations, Oscar & Michelle!

Crowsnest Pass Mountain Maternity Session [Erika & Josh]

Crowsnest Pass winter maternity session

It is always so amazing watching the people I grew up with move through such huge milestones in their lives. Erika and Josh’s wedding was a big one for me, and now they have had their first baby! I am so happy and excited for them and it was obvious they are feeling those same things; they were radiating so much positivity at their Crowsnest Pass mountain maternity session. Even as we walked between locations, they couldn’t help but discuss big plans for their little girl (like how she totally needs a tree house to play with her dolls)!

I’m so excited to get to meet little Molly very soon!
