Cassidy and Sonya, magazine featured

They even wrapped it nice :)

Earlier this month I was contacted by a medical company based out of Maryland to take some photographs for a feature they were doing in their annual report on one of their patient success stories. When I arrived for the session the next day, I was instantly aware that Cassidy and her mom Sonya were such genuinely nice, generous people. They were surprised to have received the phone call from the company for this story, so we joked that maybe it was all an elaborate April Fool’s joke ;)

I loved capturing the special relationship between Cassidy and her mom. There was so much love and connection between them. They are both amazing people and it was a pleasure to work with them. My contacts in the medical company were also a delight to work with and were so pleasant I even looked forward to their emails!

Sophia turned 3! (A visit to the Crowsnest Pass)

Monday, June 21st, 2010

I’m always happy when I get to see Sophia again, and this time she’s just a much bigger version of the Sophia I saw last year! I went to the Crowsnest Pass this last week to capture some photos of her just a few weeks after she turned three, and we hung out in downtown Coleman. It’s been so awesome seeing her grow up, especially now that she can have conversations and is an even bigger ham in front of the camera.

She’s definitely my new little buddy; she wanted me to come for slurpees after the session, kept insisting on riding with me instead of her mom, and had been talking about me for a few hours before we even did the photos!

Happy birthday, Sophia! (p.s. Her mommy designed an awesome zebra print cake for her birthday party. That’s definitely in my good books.) (more…)

Mother/Daughter (and Doggie) Photos, Lethbridge

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Sara’s mom Michelle was in town visiting last weekend so Sara asked me to capture some long overdue mother/daughter photos of the two of them, along with Sara’s sweet little dog Goldie. These photos were a challenge for Sara, because she is normally on the other side of the camera! However, she’s totally photogenic (even though she doesn’t think so), so I think she needs to spend more time in front of the lens too :) These girls were so easy to get beaming smiles out of, and I was glad I picked such a colorful location for photos when they had picked such gorgeous rich colors for their clothes.
