Max is a sweet little rescue dog who is so lucky to have his new mom who totally dotes on him! He was a little timid when I first met him but it didn’t take him long to learn I was there to give him pets :) (more…)

Kristen and Matt love going to the mountains, and chose the Crowsnest Pass as the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos! They drove out for the day with their dog Buddy and we went on an easy hike for some gorgeous autumn pictures. Buddy has separation issues and tried to photobomb nearly every photo we took, but he’s soooo cute that he can totally get away with it :) (more…)

I usually work alongside Brien for photography, so it was a fun change to get him in front of the camera! I met up with him, his wife Lindsey, their adorable girls, and their sweet furry baby and had a great time. They were so much fun to photograph, and I must have made a good impression because the girls picked flowers for me at the end :) (more…)

I’ve known Kirsten for FOREVER (I even went to Disneyland with her when we were young!) and now she’s all grown up and has a baby! I came down to the Crowsnest Pass to photograph her little guy Jaxon, and since we had such beautiful weather we finished the session off with some family photos on the old Frank Road, bringing along her so-well-behaved fur baby Drake. Jaxon was super smiley and it was so great to be able to work with them. The Pass is such an epic place to take photos! :) (more…)

The work I have been doing with AARCS has been so rewarding, and almost all of the dogs I have photographed were almost immediately placed in homes! However, there is one exception: Rodeo still needs to find her forever home. I first saw her in February when she was just a puppy, so now that she is a little bigger she needed some updated photos. She’s still pretty cute and little, but she’s gotten a lot taller and grown out of those awkward big puppy feet. Such a sweetie!
Here is her adoption page if you are interested. :) (more…)

Camouflage dogs!
Another set of AARCS dogs who were available for adoption are brother and sister puppies Pokey and Rodeo, who live in Pincher Creek with their foster family. Photographing them was like working with little humans – they have so much energy when they are young so it takes lots of patience and chasing! I had to be careful not to get too close to the puppies because they thought that meant it was time for hugs, not posing for photos :) If it weren’t for my lens hood I would have had many nose prints on my glass! I’m so happy to announce that Pokey has already been adopted too! (more…)
