Coleman, Alberta Maternity Photos [Ashley & Scott]

Coleman, Alberta early spring maternity photos

Ashley and Scott celebrated the upcoming arrival of their baby with Coleman, Alberta maternity photos just before the Easter weekend. Ashley was a stunning mother to be in her white lace dress, which showed off her tummy so perfectly. Her and Scott are so romantic together from the quiet way he holds her to the gentle way he kisses her hand. They’re going to be amazing parents.

We started out the session on the Miner’s Path in Coleman. Even though the leaves aren’t quite out yet for spring, the evergreen trees and abundance of moss gave us enough color. We just had to be careful to avoid the little patches of snow that were still hanging around! After that, we went over to “Scott’s mountain” (the one nearest his home town) and their dog Josie finally got to be included. Josie is a big softie despite her size (choosing to sit in my lap for a moment) and was so excited to smell all the interesting things in the field. She was so excited by the smells that it took a good 5 minutes before she cared about the silly noises I usually make for dogs!

Lethbridge University Lake Couple’s Session [Davina & Jonathan]

Lethbridge University Lake couple's session

Davina and Jonathan chose an almost summer-like day for their Lethbridge University Lake couple’s session in the late autumn. We hardly even had wind! This was a great thing as Davina has recently moved to Lethbridge from out of province and is still adjusting to our “breezes” we regularly get here ;)

While Davina has relocated here for work, her boyfriend Jonathan is still back home and he came to Lethbridge for a special visit with her. I really appreciate them taking a moment out of such an important week for a few photos! They brought along their adorable dog Lyndee, who has the cutest ears with curly hair. Lyndee loved sniffing around at the university but was easy to distract when we gave her bag of biscuits a good shake!

Twin Sibling Western Photo Session [Bradley & Allison]

twin sibling western photo session

Bradley and Allison got to have their twin sibling western photo session at their grandma’s house just outside of Lethbridge. Grandma’s house had such pretty spots but more importantly, it’s where their mom and dad keep their horses boarded and we got to bring them out for photos too!

This session was made possible by a donation through the Lethbridge Twins & Triplets Club and I was excited waiting to see which twins (or triplets!) would come my way! Twins Bradley and Allison have such distinct personalities already, which was most notable when Allison told us how done she was and Bradley watched her with curiosity, wondering what ever could have made his sister so upset :) The twins looked so cute in their miniature western wear, especially Allison’s little pink cowboy boots.

Barnwell Equestrian Portraits [Tayler]

Barnwell equestrian portraits

This was my third time going out to Tayler’s family acreage in Barnwell to spend an amazing afternoon with her and her adorable pets. This year we focused a little more on the equestrian portraits when Tayler took one of her horses out to the field for some riding action shots. I love seeing her interact with her animals. She already has such a kind personality but the way she interacts with the pets, as well as how sweetly they respond to her, shows how nurturing she truly is. Being such an animal lover myself, I love being around this!

As usual, Tayler rocked her session and is always a natural in front of the camera. She makes my job so easy!

Fort Macleod Backyard Wedding Ceremony [Cameron & Morgan]

Cameron and Morgan, Fort Macleod backyard wedding ceremony

Morgan and Cameron travelled south to Morgan’s family acreage to hold their Fort Macleod backyard wedding ceremony. Their perfect sunny day really made the cotton candy pink and blue color scheme pop! I loved how they mix and matched the colors throughout the wedding party and their children, with their daughter lucky enough to get the most colorful poofy dress that was a mix of both.

They kept their wedding very small with immediate family, which made the day so special and intimate. Their DIY touches were put together so well… Morgan made the bouquets and flower girl dress herself!

After all the years their relationship goes back, the deep intimacy and comfort they share together was obvious.

Congratulations, Cameron and Morgan!

Hillcrest Mines Family Photos [Fleurie]

Hillcrest Mines family photos

When I first visited Fleurie for her newborn photos, our plan had been to focus on her in her home then go outside to get scenic photos with her mom and dad. That didn’t work out when it poured that whole weekend! We figured we’d have better luck waiting a little later into the summer, but sure enough it happened to rain again. The weather did not seem to like us! However, everything worked out perfectly by waiting till the next morning for their Hillcrest Mines family photos. We had beautiful weather, were sheltered from the wind down in the trees, and the grass seemed to grow inches taller after all that extra water.

Fleurie was not as excited about the weather as we were. She took a little offence to being awoken from her nap, but luckily we knew how to calm her down from last time. With the right amount of bouncing and a soother on hand, the problem was solved!
