Indian Battle fall family photos

Mary and John came to Lethbridge over Thanksgiving weekend to visit their kids, Kendra and Cameron, and took some time out of their schedule to get some updated Indian Battle fall family photos. The leaves were such an amazing color that weekend with rare splashes of orange everywhere. They brought along their senior dog O.D. who was so full of personality despite his hearing and vision problems. He must have known how to smile at the camera even when he couldn’t hear me!

This family was hilarious and joked their way through the whole session. It’s good they are such positive people because we had a bit of trouble with the rain… every so often, despite it being a beautiful day, we’d be hit with pouring rain and even a little hail! We had to run for cover a couple times during our session (including a 10 minute car break when it got really bad!) but luckily it passed every time and we could keep going.

Thanks for braving the rain with me, guys! ;)

Lethbridge Autumn Pet Family Photos [Irene & Jed]

Lethbridge autumn pet family photos

Some dogs love eating couches and Cricket is no exception! When Irene and Jed added her to their family to be Finnegan’s sister, their beloved couch did not survive the new addition. They wanted to commemorate their couch in pictures before sending it away so we had a lovely autumn pet family photo session with them, the dogs, and the old furniture in their backyard. The dogs thought we were having a party and loved zooming around in between poses, but still listened perfectly when it was time to look at me.

After our time in the yard, we took them on an adventure to Lethbridge’s Pavan Park where they got to smell all kinds of other dogs :)

Family Christmas Pet Photos [Taylore & Kelly]

family Christmas pet photos

Taylore, Kelly, Maid Marian the cat, and Bjork the Icelandic Sheepdog (perfect name, right?) were due for their family Christmas pet photos and rather than trying to wrangle the dog and cat themselves, I got to help them out this year! They are a cute little family and the animals were awesome sports in wearing their Christmas sweaters, even if it took a bit of wrestling to make it happen.

Bjork and Marian have such different personalities; Bjork is outgoing and exceptionally friendly to everyone, and Maid Marian is cautious and worried, but the two of them are still the best of friends. I was told Bjork is more of a favorite than the humans are!

Leitch Collieries Engagement Session [Brittany & Donovan]

Leitch Collieries engagement session

I had an awesome time working with Brittany and Donovan and can’t wait to see how quirky their wedding will be! Since a mountain wedding would have been their second choice after Lethbridge, they met with me in the Crowsnest Pass for their Leitch Collieries engagement session and brought along their giant Bernese Mountain Dog, Murphy, who was on his best behavior for the whole shoot.

These two were awesome to work with and I loved that even when Brittany tried to be serious, she couldn’t resist smiling huge around Donovan. They have such a romantic feel around each other!

Lethbridge Autumn Horse Portraits [Stephanie]

Lethbridge autumn horse portraits

I got to meet Stephanie in the last bit of fall colors for some Lethbridge autumn horse portraits at the Therapeutic Riding Association where she keeps her gorgeous horses. Steph was going to be donating Dallas to the association and wanted some portraits with him first, and wanted longer session with her girl Maui too!

Dallas was super laid back and easy to quickly work with, but Maui REALLY wanted to go hang out with her friends instead and took a little more coaxing. She is definitely an opinionated horse ;) Luckily we took care of all of her riding photos before she changed her mind about wanting to model for us.

Steph looks so happy while she works with her horses and there’s no hiding how much she loves them.

Teen Girl Portraits in Taber [Tayler]

teen girl portraits in Taber

I’ve known Tayler for a little over a year from dance and always thought she was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Now that I have visited her family and witnessed their love of animals, I see I was right! I was able to photograph the beautiful Tayler this autumn for her yearly photos and we spent all our time playing with their horses, dogs, and many rescued cats, all of whom loyally followed us around looking for love and attention.

Her family has a beautiful acreage near Taber full of awesome old trucks, large trees, and plenty of room for the animals to play. Tayler was such a natural in front of the camera that I was able to keep throwing cats at her and still keep a good pace ;)
