Trevor, Jenn, Carter, and Spencer met me in the river bottom this past weekend for family photos with the very last of the autumn leaves. I did Spencer’s photos when he was brand new, years before I even worked with Trevor, and it was great to finally get to take their pictures again!

However, we started out with a problem; Spencer tripped before the first photo, got a little scrape on his hand, and was then extremely unhappy! We distracted him a bit in the beginning with a bandaid, but soon he realized what happened and there were no happy faces to be had. Trevor and Jenn seemed pretty convinced all hope was lost, but I worked my magic and I worked quick when he did smile, and you’d never know how huge of a fuss was going on behind the scenes! :) (more…)

Roy received his Masters from the University of Lethbridge this weekend, and I met up with him and his lovely family just after the convocation to capture some photos to celebrate this huge accomplishment! His wife and girls were so sweet, and you could instantly tell how supportive they have been of him finishing his degree. Roy has definitely chosen the right career path for him and I wish him and his family all the best :)

p.s. Though intrigued by my zombie photos, Roy was not brave enough to do a zombie convocation session. Darn! (more…)

A few days ago I was able to take photos of my new and newish nieces, Madison and Taylor. Those girls have the Plonka lips even more than I do! I had a great time with the girls and look forward to seeing them grow. Hopefully they will be awesome like their aunty ;) (more…)

I love doing photos with Sara, so I was thrilled to have another session with her! She and Michel are expecting their first baby in a couple months, so they wanted to get some family photos with their dogs Goldie, Riley, and Buddy before the baby comes. After the dogs decided that photos were absolutely out of the question and it was only time to play fight, we finished off the session with some maternity photos with just Sara and Michel. I’ve done tons of photos of Sarah with her horses before, but usually with her in a dress! She finally wanted some “normal” photos, so we set out with her tall horse Santana to get a few images of her riding him just before sunset. It was probably one of the last few “warm” evenings of the year and we were especially fortunate to chose the night that had the most gorgeous sunset all week! We did quite a few regular riding photos, but I had the most fun when I spun her around and pointed my camera into the lowering sun. (more…)

When Katie and Christian asked me to photograph their wedding, I was elated. In my early concert going days, I loved to watch Christian and best man Steven’s band Atrophy Manuscript, but with the band no longer together, I hardly ever run into the guys anymore. It was neat after all this time to see Christian getting married (and to such a wonderful, gorgeous girl!).

They had a small evening ceremony at the Galt Museum, so we did the photos beforehand just before the sun went down. The light was gorgeous and we couldn’t have asked for a warmer, more peaceful day. The sun set just as they walked down the aisle. Everything they arranged was beautiful, and I’m so happy they chose the time of day that they did.
