Pink Spring Blossom Portraits in Lethbridge [Katie]

pink spring blossom portraits in Lethbridge

It was the perfect combination. I was itching to take a fresh set of pink spring blossom portraits once the flowers came out in Lethbridge. Katie was high up on my list of models I wanted to work with. A friend donated this beautiful summery white dress to my photo collection. The day the flowers suddenly bloomed had no rain and even no wind. How much more perfect could it be?

Katie was fantastic to work with. She understood how crazy I get with these flowers and didn’t question why she needed to stand in a ladder in a tree. :)

The creative pink make-up was done by the talented Erin Kinney, who also did the fishtail braid Katie wore for the first half of our shoot.

Lethbridge late spring maternity photos

I’m so excited to see Ross and Erin’s family growing! After knowing them for many years and photographing their wedding, I’ve come to know them as super sweet people with great senses of humour and know they will make amazing parents.

They brought along their adorable dog Lazer for their late spring maternity photos at Aperture Park at the University of Lethbridge and I can already tell he’s going to make a great big brother ;) It was such a beautiful evening for photos and almost felt like summer.

Mom and the Girls Photoshoot [Amanda, Mia, and Nova]

mom and the girls photoshoot in Lethbridge

For Amanda’s birthday, she treated herself to a mom and the girls photoshoot with her daughters Mia and Nova. These three blonde girls are so gorgeous!

It was so fun to photograph Mia again since I haven’t seen her since her newborn photos and now she’s a feisty two year old! Aperture Park at the University of Lethbridge was such a fun location for Nova who loved looking at the deer and picking dandelions. We all had to team up to chase her around (including Mia’s friends she brought along), but Nova definitely insisted on doing her own thing. Luckily we were able to trick her into a bunch of photos by playing off what she thought she was choosing to do on her own ;)

Lethbridge spring morning family photos

I’ve worked with Carly many times for photography, but that was all for her job… this time her and her family got to be in front of my camera! She celebrated Mother’s Day with spring morning family photos with her boys at Aperture Park at the University of Lethbridge. However, her littlest guy didn’t get the memo that it was Mother’s Day and wasn’t fully cooperative after a while! Our photos slowly evolved more and more into playing with sticks and swinging him in the air to get him excited again ;)

Lethbridge High School Grad Photos [Hailey]

Lethbridge high school grad photos

This graduation season I was thrilled to work with Hailey for her Lethbridge high school grad photos. From our brief time taking photos, she gave off such an air of maturity and kindness. She is beautiful both inside and out!

The rain from the day before and threat of even more rain that day made for fantastic photos in Indian Battle Park. The colors became so deep and rich, really making Hailey’s dress pop out.

Hailey wore a stunning black and gold floor length dress with sheer lace accents, and the gold perfectly complemented her long blonde hair. She rocked that dress!

Lethbridge Spring Wedding Photos [Ben & Sheila]

Ben and Sheila, Lethbridge spring wedding photos

Sheila and Ben joined us for their Lethbridge spring wedding photos just after their ceremony on what could have been a rainy day… but as luck would have it, it stopped raining exactly just during our scheduled photo time!

I don’t think I have ever laughed this much from a wedding party before. They wore blankets as scarves, high fived a jogger in the coulees at every bend in his path, the girls ran up the coulees in heels, one groomsman managed to get a girl’s phone number downtown in between photos, and everything finished with endless airplane puns at the appropriate time (though most of those came from Cam once they got going!). Seeing as how I first knew Sheila and Ben for their hilarious piggy back rides, it shouldn’t have been a surprise that they are such a fun group!

We started our photos in the coulees, now a saturated green from all the rain, then headed downtown to some of the most beautiful old architecture. Sheila and Ben have such a romantic, deeply passionate look when they interact with each other and these locations really accented those feelings.

Our last location was a fun one: the airport hangar! Even though we ended up not needing to escape any rain, it was such a great spot to take photos.

Congratulations, Ben and Sheila!
