Waterton Lakes Lodge Winter Wedding [Jeremiah & Hannah]

Jeremiah and Hannah, Waterton Lakes Lodge winter wedding

I’m not sure I have ever seen two people as excited to get married as Hannah and Jeremiah! Their relationship was love at first sight and it shows in how passionate they are around each other. It was hard to spot them without giant smiles while in each other’s company all day.

They planned their big day as a mini-destination trip with a Waterton Lakes Lodge winter wedding, and man did they ever get winter! Waterton was covered in several feet of snow with a fresh snowfall just in time for their wedding. For once, it wasn’t windy there! Their wedding party were great sports to go out in that much snow and we all lasted pretty long out there considering the temperature.

Both their ceremony and reception were held indoors at the Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort and they had beautiful lights set up behind the head table stage that made a perfect backdrop for both portions of the day.

Congratulations, Jeremiah and Hannah!

Lethbridge Snowy Late Winter Wedding [Koos & Denise]

Koos & Denise, Lethbridge snowy late winter wedding

When Denise and Koos planned their wedding, I think they were expecting a little more spring than the winter wonderland they received! The tiffany blue and gray color theme they chose looked gorgeous for their Lethbridge snowy late winter wedding, offering a great compliment to the cool hues and bit of blue popping out of the sky.

After their ceremony at the Lethbridge Netherlands Reformed Congregation, we met with them and their family and luckily could keep everyone inside and warm for their portraits. Next we were off to the Broxburn Cafe who generously let us take a few photos inside to warm up. Everything about that location looked fantastic with the wedding colors and their rustic touches. The wedding party was so awesome about sticking it out in the cold and smiling despite the temperatures!

Denise and Koos were so lost in each other throughout the day that they hardly noticed the cold. Their embraces kept them warm and showed off how sweet and caring their relationship is.

At the end of the night we returned to their reception at the Lethbridge Lodge where they had both hilarious comedy sketches and moving presentations from the family.

Thanks to Melanie at Photo Expressions for assisting that day.

Congratulations, Koos and Denise!

Snowy Coleman Engagement Session [Meaghan & Chad]

winter Crowsnest Pass engagement photos

Meaghan and Chad got so lucky with a snowy Coleman engagement session. When they booked weeks in advance, we had no idea what December would give us and just managed to miss the -20C temperatures! We started at the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre parking lot for beautiful snowy views of the rock slide, but this proved to be the chilliest spot of all (it’s almost like being on an exposed mountain surface makes things windier! ;) ) and made our final stop at the Miner’s Path a very welcome warm visit.

They were very committed to their photos and willing to strip down to just sweaters, which looked so cute! I made sure they got to stay extra snuggly and warm their chilly hands up on each other as often as possible. This was definitely no challenge for them as being snuggly comes very naturally! I can’t wait for their wedding next summer, which should be a little easier when we aren’t in big coats and mittens ;)

Lethbridge New Years Eve Wedding [Lynn & Kaitlyn]

Lynn & Kaitlyn, Lethbridge New Years Eve wedding

What better way to throw a party than with a Lethbridge New Years Eve wedding? Lynn and Kaitlyn planned their celebration to take place in the evening on New Years so they could ring in the upcoming year and their new life together with all of the people who mean the most to them.

They started their photos with a romantic reveal in the coulees just before a surprisingly warm sunset. Kaitlyn was shuttled to the location by family and hid in the van until Lynn was just out of sight. After a few moments of embracing Kaitlyn braved the chilly air to show off her beautiful soft pink dress. They were so awesome about working outside despite the weather… and at least it gave them an excuse to cuddle extra closely!

Their evening ceremony was held in Lethbridge City Hall. Their vows were a perfect mix of sentimental and humorous and could not have reflected their personalities better.

Country Kitchen Catering provided their reception party venue and dinner later that evening.

Congratulations, Lynn and Kaitlyn!

Snowy Coaldale Winter Wedding Photos [Kayla & Kevin]

Kevin & Kayla, snowy Coaldale winter wedding

December weddings are so much better with a nice fresh coat of snow. Kayla and Kevin had just that for their snowy Coaldale winter wedding! Even though it was a lot colder than anticipated and limited our outdoor time, we still managed to sneak out a couple times to make use of the beautiful snow. I’m glad we could after Kayla found just an awesome red barn!

We started out our photos in Lethbridge where Kayla and Kevin got to see each other for the first time and had a great time with their wedding party. I loved watching all the silly faces Kevin sneaks in to make Kayla giggle! Once we went outside, Kayla donned her gorgeous blue fur lined cape to stay warm.

Just before sunset, they had their ceremony at the Coaldale Canadian Reformed Church. Their ring bearer and flower girl totally stole the show during the sermon (evidence to follow… keep reading!).

Congratulations, Kevin and Kayla!

Indian Battle Park Snowy Family Photos [Danny & Sacha]

Indian Battle Park snowy family photos

When Sacha hoped for snow for their session, we kept our fingers crossed extra hard – you just never know with the weather in Lethbridge – and we ended up so lucky (as I write this one day later, almost all of the snow has melted)! It was even a fairly warm day for November, unlike at my first photo session with them where it was barely -20C outside (this is one tough family). Danny and Sacha got the Indian Battle park snowy family photos they had hoped for and the kids were such great sports about it, as usual!

I can’t believe how big Midnight has grown since I last saw them, from not being able to hold his head up to his big brother Jayden having to wrangle him in as he runs away! We explored just outside of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre and the boys had so much fun playing in the snow and jumping around to stay warm.
