indoor Lethbridge winter engagement session

So cute! I was so excited for Cheryl and Josh’s autumn wedding following their indoor Lethbridge winter engagement session and could already tell how much fun it was going to be spending their day with them. Cheryl and Josh were total naturals in front of the camera and super easy to work with, and I’m sure they appreciated being able to do the photos in the warm indoors when it was so chilly outside :) Luckily Cheryl had a cute animal hat and was brave enough to go outside for a few final snaps!

p.s. How adorable is Cheryl’s dress?

Snowy winter Lethbridge engagement photography

Aamee and Jason ended up choosing quite the chilly day for their snowy winter engagement photo session here in Lethbridge; we were expecting warm weather and instead got a blizzard! It definitely worked out in our favor because even though it was too cold to stay outside for very long, the snow made their outdoor photos look so dreamy and bright. I’m sure their cute pooches King Kong and Batman were also happy that they got lots of hugs and got to be packed around instead of stuck in the cold snow!

We started out the session in the much warmer indoors of the University of Lethbridge and had such great bright light coming in from the snow outside. Aamee and Jason are so cute and sweet together, so of course my favorite photos of them were when they got right in close and cuddly. Aamee also brought along a few really fun props we were able to use in their engagement photos!

I’m sure we will have much warmer weather for their Norland Bed & Breakfast wedding this June!

Lethbridge Winter Adult Family Photos [Keltie, Heath, and Jasmyn]

Lethbridge Winter Adult Family Photos

Just in time before the blizzard! Keltie, Heath, and Jasmyn got together with me for their Christmas family photos this past winter and brought along their fur babies Louie and Sophie. The family was so wonderfully coordinated and looked gorgeous :) They picked such a great color scheme of red, gray, and black to pop out against the subdued winter landscape, and the University of Lethbridge lake was a perfect spot.

Even though the dogs were over-excited by visiting a new place, I was happy to find they thought all of my sound effects were very interesting and were easy to get looking at me! They had a few frightful moments (I AM pretty big next to a Chihuahua!) but were pretty easy to calm down with cuddles. (more…)

CASA Lethbridge Glamor Portraits

I met Erin many many years ago when I photographed her wedding and it was great to finally catch up! She wanted some updated photos of herself for her husband’s Christmas gift, so we headed over to Lethbridge’s Casa building for some glamor portraits. Erin is just as gorgeous as ever and a fellow member of the tall club, so she’s always such a dream to photograph! It came as no surprise that her gorgeous dress was from the tall specialty store we all shop at :)

Waterton Spring Engagement Photos [Hillary & Kevin]

Waterton spring engagement photos

Hillary and Kevin traveled down to meet me in Waterton for some spring engagement photos and we had a glorious mix of both spring and winter! The snowfall the day before still stuck in the town despite the temperatures climbing back up, so we were able to have winter wonderland type photos with gorgeous sunshine, blue skies, and enough heat to make coats unnecessary. I even got a little sunburned! With it being off season, we had most of the town to ourselves and luckily didn’t have to worry about scaling too many large snow banks.

These two are so fantastic together. Hillary and Kevin both took turns instigating who was the goofy one (and thus making the other laugh hysterically). I am sure they have no shortage of happiness when they are near each other.

Crowsnest Pass Winter Wedding [Michelle & Oscar]

Michelle & Oscar, Crowsnest Pass winter wedding

Michelle & Oscar traveled all the way from Calgary for their Crowsnest Pass “winter” wedding. It may have taken place in the spring, but it sure looked like winter! Just days before, and even the next day, the grass had been turning green and there were no more hints of winter. Out of no where came a heavy snowfall warning for all of southern Alberta. We definitely lucked out as a few places had more of a rainy snow, but the Crowsnest Pass looked like something out of a fairy tale. Plus, by the time we headed outside, most of the heavy snowfall had stopped, leaving only gorgeous snow covered landscapes.

The Crowsnest Pass was a perfect fit for their wedding as it allowed them to get married in the mountains and still include family in a special way. Their ceremony was performed at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Blairmore by Michelle’s uncle. It was an intimate ceremony with their closest friends and family. Their ceremony was so emotional and full of so many happy tears and laughter.

After the ceremony, we explored the Crowsnest Pass with Oscar and Michelle and their two friends. It was fun having another couple as their bridal party because I could get them to be all cute and intimate too (normally that would be a little awkward!). They were so much fun and I loved all of the excitement they expressed over the landscapes. I sometimes take it for granted having grown up there, but they reminded me just how beautiful it is!

Oscar and Michelle are so sweet together and I know they are going to have such a happy life.

Congratulations, Oscar & Michelle!
