William & Becky, Park Lake wedding photos

William and Becky had a beautiful early autumn wedding around their home turf in Southern Alberta. I had already done photos with them a couple times before so I knew how fun they were before we even started. They are such naturals in front of the camera and so crazy in love. It’s been amazing to see how much more obvious their love has become since I first met them in the winter!

After getting ready in Nobleford, we headed over to the Bethel Free Reformed Church in Monarch for their ceremony and wedding service. For their portraits I was excited to finally get to go to the Lethbridge Corn Maze, which has been on my wedding photography bucket list for a while ;) Their time spent not getting lost in the maze was followed by Park Lake wedding photos. We had already done their engagement photos there but with the new autumn colors, it looked like a brand new location and worked perfectly with the yellow bridesmaid dresses.

Congratulations, Wink and Becky!

Hastings Lake Gardens Wedding [Sophia & Mark]

Sophia & Mark, Edmonton Hastings Lake wedding

I’ve known Sophia since high school and though we hadn’t seen each other since, I loved watching (via Facebook) how happy she has been for many years with Mark. The two of them are such a great duo and so perfect for each other, and they decided they should finally get married!

They started out the day with a Hastings Lake Gardens wedding ceremony, followed by photos around Sherwood Park and Edmonton, and finally their reception at Royal Mayfair Golf Club. Hastings Lake Gardens was such a gorgeous location filled with beautiful flowers at the main location and fun, rustic backdrops out back.

It poured during their ceremony but despite the weather, they both had the hugest grins and could not stop laughing in happiness! Their great senses of humor made their day beautiful and happy no matter what the weather did, and we even got lucky and had the rain stop in time for outdoor portraits.

Sophia pulled some strings and got us access to an airport runway as one of our locations. Sophia is a pilot so it was such a fitting spot! They kept that theme running throughout their day and did such an amazing job with the consistency. Even their invitations were flight tickets :)

Congratulations, Mark & Sophia!

Lethbridge Spring Wedding [Amelia & Abram]

Amelia & Abram, Lethbridge spring wedding

Amelia and Abram chose early May for their Lethbridge spring wedding and we had a beautiful day with sunshine and all of the new leaves starting to peak out.

One really fun part about the day is that we did the photos in reverse order, starting with their reception details. Amelia and Abram chose to do their personal portraits before anything else and it worked out hugely in our favor since the early afternoon was beautiful and sunny but it was pouring when we left the church after their ceremony! (I won’t even get into the stupid snow that happened after that.) They couldn’t have timed it better :)

I mentioned before how Abram hates having his photo taken, but you could tell he was so smitten by Amelia because he was grinning all day… he probably forget we were taking his photo ;) Amelia was full of huge laughter around him and their families, and she looked so stunning.

They chose the Lethbridge Lodge as their main location both for getting ready and their reception, so it was a natural fit to do many of the portraits there as well. After photos were finished, we headed over to the beautiful Nobleford Christian Reformed Church for their sweet and thoughtful ceremony.

Congratulations, Amelia & Abram!

Charles & Leanne, Lethbridge wedding photos

Charles and Leanne held a beautiful autumn wedding split between Fort Macleod and Lethbridge this October. They were so easy to photograph, the way they just naturally fell into each others arms. Even with the distractions of all of their friends and family, they always gravitated to each other and I rarely saw them not holding hands or with an arm around each other. On top of that, their bridal party was so fun, happy, and energetic and made the day just fly by!

I met with them just after their ceremony at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation in Fort Macleod, and after finishing some family photos and stopping at the awesome old green bridge, we headed into Lethbridge for their portraits and reception at the Coast Hotel. It was such a beautiful sunny day, made even more wonderful by the fact it was supposed to rain and possibly snow that day!

They chose such great colors for their wedding and the autumn leaves really complemented the bridesmaid dresses. I really love their lemon centerpieces as an extra splash of yellow :)

Congratulations, Charles and Leanne! (more…)

Jonathan & Jamie | Calgary Wedding Photography

Thursday, July 4th, 2013

What a fantastic first wedding of the season! Jamie and Jonathan were married at the beautiful Christ Church near downtown Calgary. We had a few challenges as the wedding fell exactly one week after the horrible flood in the city. A few of our planned locations got washed out (and we just made it to a playground before it got demolished!) but we all adjusted, figured out new routes, and the wedding went wonderfully!

I first met Jamie through work at the U of L and it was so great to see her find love in Jonathan. They just looked so unbelievably happy together all day long, and especially by the reception it was difficult to tear them apart.

Congratulations, Jamie and Jonathan! (more…)

Mike & LeeAnna, Lethbridge Wedding

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Mike and LeeAnna had a beautiful wedding at the beginning of July; we had a gorgeous day to work with and these two were radiating so much love that you couldn’t help but be totally happy around them! When I first met them I loved how cute they were and thought they had two of the most likeable personalities I’ve ever come across.

LeeAnna and Mike chose to see each other before the ceremony, which is always my favorite thing to do to get the most genuine emotions. They were so lost in each other when they first walked up and made contact that I felt bad to interupt them when it was time for posing!

When their bridal party showed up, we took everyone out to play, and Jan Tajcnar helped me out for the day for her usual sneaky paparazzi photos. (more…)
