This October was Lethbridge’s 3rd Annual Zombie Walk, and we had a great turnout despite the cold. Many people brought along their little zombies this year, so our efforts to stress it was a family event were definitely not in vain! This may be surprising since I love photographing zombies, but I’m not a big fan of zombie movies – I’ve only seen several! I just thrive on photographing unusual things, and zombies are so full of textures and character and a hunger for brains… (more…)

It’s been a while, but here is my first zombie pinup of the year! Between the great locations, Starsha’s excellent modeling, and not having done one in a while, it was really hard to narrow these photos down!

Starsha has several pet cockroaches, and we made use of them for the last portion of the shoot. They are actually pretty laid back creepy crawlies, but when we would put them on her they would make a run for it. We ended up having to only use one so they didn’t get lost in the field (because that would just suck for EVERYONE), and I multiplied it afterward. If you are absolutely terrified of cockroaches, it is the last photo, so you are safe to scroll through the 16 that come before it.

When I first arranged this shoot with Starsha, Hope Litwin had recently done a little personal assignment, Project: Norma Jean, recreating Marilyn Monroe’s ballerina photo. I found out Starsha had an orange tu-tu, so Project: Zomba Jean was born…

I just wanted to leave a quick note to say I am featured this month on the Portuguese photography site Pontos de Vista for my zombie photos. Woot!

If you have some free time, dig around the site… there are some really cool photos on there! It’s addictive like Flickr!

The posting frenzy continues!

Mark over at thebigcritique.com did a review of the video game Left 4 Dead, and featured one of my photos of the lovely undead Meaghan :)

This Zombie Pinup session was done with Becca just a couple days before Halloween, and we were very lucky to find the ball park gates unlocked for our theme! I think this may be my favorite one so far.

My goal for this batch was to not use Photoshop… and I did it! (Except for the watermark, but you know…) Finally, I have conquered Lightroom’s brush tool, and am impressed at how versatile it was for what I wanted, and how much faster it was than doing the same thing in Photoshop. Oh Lightroom, I love you more each day.

Damien over at Your Photo Tips did a great little write up on my zombie pinups today…

The undead can be really be hard to flatter in photography. I mean, most times you really want to capture the “life” and the “soul” of a person when doing a portrait. But what do you do when your subjects have no life and no soul?

It’s always a wonderful pleasure to see photographers making waves and breaking trends all while having fun with their craft. Tanya is a wonderful photographer that exhibits a true love of photography and it really shows in her images.
