Peter & Kimberly | A Rosebud Wedding

What a treat to do this wedding! I’ve casually known Kim for quite a few years now, but we were more online friends even though we lived in the same city. Then she moved away, and met Peter, and fell in love! I was a little gushy to learn that they met on an online dating site because (1) that’s a great way to fall for someone’s personality first, and (2) that’s how Cam and I met :)

Though the two are based out of Calgary/Edmonton now, they wanted to have a cute small town wedding and spent many months looking for just the right place. They settled on Rosebud, Alberta, which is pretty much the cutest small town I have ever seen. Everything is extremely well maintained and it has a thriving art scene despite being nearly in the middle of no where. As luck would have it, some classic car enthusiasts were having a get together in Rosebud that day and offered their chauffeur services at no charge. So generous!

Since Peter is an actor and both are huge music enthusiasts, their intimate wedding was full of artists, actors, and musicians (my kind of people!) and everyone was so warm and generous that it didn’t take long for me to feel like family. I had so much fun with everyone, for as you will see, they don’t take everything quite so seriously… :)

Kim’s uncle was sporting a pretty awesome tie + t-shirt look, but decided to go the boring route and change into a button up shirt for the ceremony.

Kim’s mom is known to embroider anything she can :)

They got ready just one room apart in the beautiful Rosebud Bed & Breakfast, which overlooked the ceremony site.

Kim’s engagement ring was made with stones from Peter’s grandmother’s ring. The pendant belonged to Kim’s grandmother.

Arriving in style.

Peter was so emotional all day. I love when grooms let go like that :)

I drove by this field when I was scouting locations that morning. I’ve never seen one that color before! It was so gorgeous :)

Kim got everyone to bring hiking shoes, and we trekked into Horseshoe Canyon for some photos. Locals said they had never seen a wedding party go down there before!

As place settings, Kim and Peter pressed custom engraved spoons for each person in attendance.

Dave McCann and the Firehearts provided the entertainment at the reception. There is always so much more energy with a live band!

Kim’s mom ordered these custom bobble-heads, but they were too heavy for the cake. Instead they used the cake topper from Kim’s grandmother’s wedding.

Here is their slideshow.
