Jonathan & Jamie | Calgary Wedding Photography

What a fantastic first wedding of the season! Jamie and Jonathan were married at the beautiful Christ Church near downtown Calgary. We had a few challenges as the wedding fell exactly one week after the horrible flood in the city. A few of our planned locations got washed out (and we just made it to a playground before it got demolished!) but we all adjusted, figured out new routes, and the wedding went wonderfully!

I first met Jamie through work at the U of L and it was so great to see her find love in Jonathan. They just looked so unbelievably happy together all day long, and especially by the reception it was difficult to tear them apart.

Congratulations, Jamie and Jonathan!

Where to park? Most guests had to walk several blocks to arrive at the church.

On the plus side, the church remained untouched by water even though just a few blocks away the mud lines were waist deep!

Jamie’s uncle performed the ceremony, which was such a special touch.

Old churches are so stunning inside!

Jonathan instructs his niece on how to hold her bouquet :)

Jamie’s “something old” was a small piece of her mom’s wedding dress

Jamie and Jonathan had their first date AND were engaged at a Starbucks, so we definitely had to stop there for some photos and a chance to cool off.

They continued their citrus color scheme through the reception.

We finished off the evening at the gorgeous lookout over Calgary. Luckily power had been restored to most of the downtown core!

Here is their slideshow!
