Lethbridge Vintage Pinup Wedding [Tony & Kathleen]
As soon as Kathleen told me at our first meeting what her dress was going to look like, I was in love with their wedding! Her and Tony planned a Lethbridge vintage pinup wedding with tons of awesome alternative elements, like most of the guys sporting their mohawks. The girls wore vintage style tea length dresses from Drunken Sailor and colorful pumps to go with the red, black, and white color scheme. It’s not often you see red wedding dresses :)
It was such a beautiful day for their outdoor ceremony at Gyro Park with lots of sun and not a hint of wind. They made sure to include their three dogs in the ceremony and family photos, who were on their mostly best behavior for the day (there was just one blanket that was peed on!).
Tony and Katie’s friends were as silly as they are and so much fun to spend the day with. We even had a few extra friends follow us with their amazing classic cars (also matching the wedding color scheme), which added so much to the photos.
Congratulations, Tony & Kathleen!
Tony’s dog Dio got a special flower to wear.
Tony went all out with the flower corsages and even had one for his mohawk :)
Ruckus in this photo is probably my favorite thing from the whole day. That tongue!
Our first stop downtown was at Drunken Sailor to show off how amazing the girls looked in their dresses!
I just couldn’t leave without using the bride and groom shoes in a photo ;)
Tony practices freerunning, so he had no issues climbing into the stairs for a Spiderman kiss!
In keeping with their color scheme, we headed over to the old firehall to work some red architecture into their portraits. Thank you to Savoury Milonga Cafe for letting us take a few pictures there!
The newlyweds tried out the restaurant’s dance floor.
Their reception was held at the Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre where they continued with the retro theme and added their love of metal music into the atmosphere.
Here is their slideshow:
First of all, I’d love to talk to this Tony guy about freerunning–and second, this has to be one of my favorite sessions ever! Such great photos.
