Racehorse Creek Outdoor Wedding [Freddie & Stef]
Freddie and Stef wanted their laid-back attitudes and love of the outdoors to come through when planning their big day and fittingly decided on a Racehorse Creek outdoor wedding at one of their favorite camping and dirt biking locations.
They chose a gorgeous clearing in the Racehorse Creek area just north of the Crowsnest Pass where all of their friends and family could camp for the weekend celebrations. Of course they brought along all of their “toys” and even included their dirt bikes in the wedding :)
Stef was jaw-dropping in her corseted dress. All of the tears and laughter shared between her and Freddie throughout the day made it so obvious how in love they are.
Their day brought a sampling of all of Alberta’s weather: smoke, sun, wind, rain, and concluding with a dramatic sunset so beautiful that they quickly changed back into their wedding clothes to take advantage of it.
Congratulations, Freddie and Stef!
The vise-grip holding the marriage license down was a joke from their minister (a long time family friend) to show how secure their marriage is and play off Stef’s mechanical skills.
Stef’s dad drove her to the aisle on his dirt bike.
They shared a group hug with their parents before starting the ceremony.
He had the best seat in the house!
A great thing about having a small wedding is how easy it is to fit everyone into a group shot!
Stef tracked down some special white dirt biking boots to go with her dress :)
A moment of clouds + the lingering smoke = so dreamy!
Freddie’s brother warned them that he was afraid of heights and might not jump, and he totally owned his decision :)
Guests had to spin the wheel to get Stef and Freddie to kiss, which backfired as almost everyone managed to land on “kiss”!
Stef and Freddie always take their cat Bagheera camping so he got to be in a photo too :)
Stef’s parents photobombed their bike picture :)
The wedding party were introduced with baby photos.
Stef surprised Freddie with a speech specifically for him after their list of thank yous.
There were so many cute dogs there I could hardly function ;)
After the official dances, Freddie shared a special “traditional” dance with his brothers to “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”
This was Freddie’s reaction when he realized he had pulled an Oilers garter from her leg.
Once the rain let up, guests could enjoy the camp fire.
As soon as the sun went down, we took the couple out for some casual evening portraits.
The sky was so amazing that they rushed back to their camper to get fancied up again!
On the way back, Stef found a huge muddy puddle and couldn’t resist ;)
