Galt Museum Ceremony and Wedding Reception [Vanessa & Robbie]
Vanessa and Robbie planned an elegant Galt Museum ceremony and wedding reception on the cusp of autumn. With glimmering rose gold and soft pink accents and well tailored suits, their wedding party looked so sharp!
They started their day with a first look at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden and had their family join them there for photos. After their romantic and joyfully emotional ceremony at the Galt, we headed to the University of Lethbridge, which is where their journey together began.
The couple placed so much importance on family, including all of their siblings in the wedding party and making sure everyone close to them felt as important as they are. They were so ecstatically happy all day! Even as the pre-dinner sleepiness started to set in, they were still elated to be in each other’s presence and couldn’t stop grinning.
Congratulations, Vanessa and Robbie!

Just as we were about to have their first look in front of the Nikka Yuko well, another couple walked up and started making wishes with pennies. With it being a quiet afternoon in the garden, the timing was hilarious!
Finally Robbie and Vanessa could see each other. He exclaimed, “Oh my god!” when he first laid eyes on her :)
Vanessa’s mom blew her kisses as she walked down the aisle.
A lot of Kleenex was used during the ceremony…
Robbie’s brother was the first to initiate the cry train, and family members could be overheard telling each other, “Don’t look at Mike!” so that they could attempt to hold it together themselves :)
Robbie and Vanessa first met in Model UN Club at the University of Lethbridge, so we made a special trip to campus and visited the classroom where the club was held.
I also wanted to make it look a little more dramatic than it had been during their club!
Their wedding rings were custom made out of gold from other family members rings to create a new yet sentimental heirloom.
Vanessa and Robbie made time during their reception to go outside for sunset photos. Despite a cloudy evening, the sun reappeared right at the horizon! :)
Anna McBryan kicked off the party portion of the evening with sing-along style songs. Robbie’s brother performed a very dramatic lip sync to “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”
