Scottish Highland Ball Family Photos in Lethbridge [Fiona & David]
Fiona and David’s family love celebrating their heritage. One of their favorite ways to do so is with the Scottish Highland Ball that is held in Lethbridge.
The dance, put on by the Lethbridge Scottish Country Dance Club, is a big affair including a grand march led by a piper, dancing to a live band, and a delicious dinner at the Sandman Signature Hotel.
For the event, everyone dresses in full kilts and ball gowns. Even the little kids take part! This makes the day a perfect opportunity to update their family photos.
This year it was warm enough to do the photos outside, so I met their family at the Galt Museum. I always have a blast with this group! While this was my first time meeting Fiona and David, I already knew their son and his wife.
I used to joke that Keith was a professional groomsmen after he was in three of my wedding parties one summer (all unrelated groups of friends, by the way). A year later he started reappearing at weddings when he took on a job as a DJ! While Keith has retired from weddings, I now get to see Kate all the time as she’s a member of my business networking group. I’ve quickly learned that she has the same fun sense of humor as Keith, but she’s a little less outgoing about it ;)
Their kids are obviously taking after their joy and energy, which meant a little bit of chasing to make the photos happen. David was constantly ready to sweep his grandchildren up just long enough for a photo before they needed to run again.
Everyone looked amazing in their formal wear. I’m sure the junior kilt was a fun sight at the Scottish Highland Ball!
