Snowy Norland Wedding Portraits [Janita & William]

This may look like a Christmas wedding, but these snowy Norland wedding portraits were part of the wild fall weather we’ve had! Janita and William didn’t let the cold temperatures or second snowfall slow down their wedding plans. They were just as enthusiastic about the snow, which looked amazing with the rich reds in their colour scheme.
The wedding party and their spouses tag teamed keeping the couple warm by picking up hot chocolate, being ready with blankets behind the scenes of the photos, and parking their truck nearby so everyone could warm up in shifts.
Janita’s family lives just down the road from the Norland, plus the venue is only one block away from their church, so it was the perfect place to do their wedding photos! There were still a few autumn colours here and there while the beautiful beams of sunlight provided welcome relief from the cold for everyone.
From the time Janita’s father started laying on the dad jokes during getting ready photos to siblings lightly teasing the couple during their reception, everyone was in a constant state of laughter and joy all day long.
Congratulations, Janita & William!

Janita’s dad didn’t know he was supposed to have a first look with her, so everyone explained what that meant before she put her dress on. He learned quickly and demonstrated all of the faces he would make when he saw her :)

His actual reaction was a little more subdued than the earlier theatrical ones, but still sweet. This wedding is a pretty big deal when Janita is the first of her siblings to get married, and the only daughter in the family!

Janita was ready for the cold! Who says you can’t wear heels for a snowy wedding?

Janita and William had a first look to start off their snowy Norland wedding portraits.

William is a truck driver and used his truck as their wedding day ride.

All day the wedding party joked that William was more concerned about keeping his truck clean than anything else!

Ceremony time means the socks can finally come off!

Everyone involved got pretty fuzzy from the girls’ shawls. It was a group effort to get everyone ready for church.

Just before their reception at Paradise Canyon, we stopped in Sunridge for some dusk photos.
