Willow Drive Outdoor Wedding in the Crowsnest Pass [Sheridin & Ian]

Sheridin and Ian based their wedding around the mountain landscape of their hometown. Their Willow Drive outdoor wedding, entirely held at Ian’s brother’s place, provided sweeping views of the mountains in the Crowsnest Pass and made it easy for so many family members to be there.
This wedding was a celebration of the life Sheridin and Ian have already built together. After meeting in high school, education and work pulled them in different directions for many years while they successfully maintained a long distance relationship. They have finally been able to build a home together and were ready to have a party to celebrate that fact!
After getting ready at their own home and having a backyard first look, we headed to Willow Drive for portraits. Having their wedding there made it so easy to hop between the amazing views in the field and at the Starcreek Falls trail.
They really wanted to center the reception around their love for their families. The heartfelt speeches resulted in so much laughter and crying (sometimes both in the same breath).
Congratulations, Sheridin and Ian!

A few weeks ago I found this massive patch of fireweed while hiking and am so glad I had a chance to use it for photos!

Their signing tree was hand drawn by Sheridin’s father.

After doing such a great (and hilarious) job at his own son’s wedding, Sheridin asked her uncle to perform their ceremony.

This professional looking decor was done entirely by the couple and their families! They did an incredible job with everything tied to the mountain theme, including a trail mix bar.

Sheridin was a very organized bride, with colour-coded spreadsheets that the wedding party teased her for.

Ian’s father teased the couple for their dislike of dancing by giving a dance tutorial as part of his speech. He recreated the “How to Dance at the Bar” TikTok beat for beat and nailed it!

The couple had agreed not to write personal vows, but Sheridin worked around that rule by reading Ian a surprise poem she wrote.

As I mentioned, Ian and Sheridin do not like to dance, so they skipped having their own first dance and went straight into the parent dances.
