Keith and Mac Versus the Monster [A River Bottom Adventure]
Keith and Mac had quite a river bottom adventure one summer evening when they were out walking in the coulees… Did they survive the blood thirsty monster they found? Keep reading to find out!
What a terrifying beast with giant paws! It lay waiting in its strange log den until its next unsuspecting victims would come along.
Mac was the first to spot the beast and called Keith over.
Oh no, it spotted them!
They tried to find safety at the top of the Rust Rock Cathedral and barely escaped its ferocious jaws.
While waiting for them to come back down, the monster snacked on the corpses of its previous victims.
Finally Mac and Keith decided they would try to outrun the beast.
Alas, they were not fast enough. The monster caught up and pinned them both to the ground.
The monster got to enjoy yet another victory. Beware the coulee beast!

Keith’s Father’s Day gift was a family session that was supposed to be with everyone, but when his daughter got sick literally moments before their start time, everyone decided it would be a special father/son session instead! We snapped a couple quick photos with the whole family before we started on our river bottom adventure.
The original plan was always to do the monster theme at Rust Rock Cathedral (the strange art sculpture building down below the university), but it takes a bit of a journey to get there. We took the route over Whoop Up Drive’s pedestrian bridge and stopped for a few views along the way.
To get to the sculpture, you need to cross a washed out beaver dam. It was so fun getting across we did it a bunch of times!
This was one of those summer nights that was super hot and smoky, and this photo really captured that vibe :)
