EID Historical Park Wedding in Scandia [Erin & Jean]

There are so many cute small towns in our area. Erin and Jean’s wedding brought us out to Scandia near Brooks, where they planned their EID Historical Park wedding to be close to home and make it extra special. Their ceremony was held outdoors in front of the park’s gorgeous red barn, and we had no shortage of portrait locations between the park and surrounding areas.
Erin and Jean opted to have a first look at Erin’s family’s home. They used the beautiful row of trees that Erin helped her family pick out when she was a child (her dad said she had specified “trees with leaves” when they were choosing). Doing all of the emotional parts early was smart because it got everyone’s crying out before the ceremony (so they’d be recharged to cry again at the reception). That being said, both Erin and Jean were too busy smiling at their first look to take time crying!
Congratulations, Erin & Jean!

Jean got ready at their home, which meant their cat Larry got to be included!

The “craft corner.”

We visited Erin and Jean’s ceremony spot several hours before guests arrived so we could get all the best photo spots.

It’s important to note that Jean won the race.

A very important photo request: his and hers 90s album covers

Erin and Jean got engaged in this trellised area of their yard.

Jean got engraved hunting knives for the groomsmen.

I am honestly surprised to say this was the first time I’ve photographed a first dance to “In Spite of Ourselves”. It was fun hearing the random bursts of laughter from guests who hadn’t heard the song before :)

Erin’s brother played guitar for Jean’s parent dance with his mom.
