Some weddings just work so well as album designs, and Rebecca and Aaron’s Countryside Barn Venue wedding album was definitely one of those. The earthy tones of the brown aviator leather spine and oatmeal linen bag perfectly complemented the rustic vibe of their barn wedding. They went with a 20 page Modern+ album featuring highlights from throughout the wedding day at the Countryside Barn Venue. They let me choose the photos for their design, which always gives me a good feel of the challenge couples go through making those decisions. It’s very hard to narrow photos down!

Vanessa and Robert started their family’s album anthology with matching album designs of their wedding, maternity, and first family photos. It’s a significant first heirloom for their family and was so much fun to create a cohesive set! This was my first time designing a set of matching wedding and family anthology albums. Usually the design process takes place at different times between the milestones and certain features get discontinued from companies. Being able to do this these all at once meant matching everything right down to the leather choices and layout themes!

Such a classy wedding looks fantastic in this Norland Christmas wedding album! Kendra and DJ chose their favourite highlights from their winter wedding. Their selections focused on their family, especially their daughter who really stole the show that day.

Designing this Pincher Creek wedding album meant I got to relive how fun Dixie and Trevor’s wedding was! This Modern+ Album came with the wedding package they chose, and they had me choose the photos that go in it. For their reception, I designed with more of a collage style because they had way too many hilarious and emotional moments to choose from, like their garter removal prank or their huge dance circle with every guest up on the floor.

The charcoal leather binding and slate coloured album bag were a perfect complement to the silver colours in their wedding palette.

What a year 2020 was! By the time March rolled around, we weren’t sure if we were still going to be able to call ourselves “wedding photographers” this year, or if COVID was going to cancel weddings and events completely. Quite a few of our couples decided to postpone their weddings until 2021, but the rest decided to shake up their plans and go for it!

We saw a little less travelling this year, but still managed to visit Waterton many times and went as far as the Pioneers Cabin in Edmonton. Many of the weddings were made more personal by cancelling venue reservations and moving the festivities to family’s and friend’s farms and ranches, where we found some stunning views of the Alberta landscape.

With 2020 being such an oddball, it was totally fitting that it was also a leap year! We started out the year with James and Kaylene’s leap year / 1920s themed wedding before we had any idea of what was to come.

Kaylene and James had me design their Norland winter wedding album from the ground up, starting with selecting all of the images. I have just as much trouble narrowing down the photos as my couples do, so trust me, this is quite a task!

The album uses a clean white design with monochromatic details to match the gray, silver, and black colours that were used in James and Kaylene’s 1920s inspired wedding at the Norland Historic Estate.
