It takes a lot of people to make your wedding dreams a reality. Your wedding planner, gets all the details in order, and works with the dozens of vendors that prepare the venue, the flowers, the music, food, and the transportation.

The bride and bridesmaids are wearing beautiful dresses in the latest fashion. The Honeymoon plans have been made and now the moment is here to join your life partner forever.

Yes at that tender moment your photographer is focusing, waiting and capturing the perfect scene. She is with you when you exchange rings. She is near when you throw the bouquet, cut the cake, and cry at the father-daughter dance. Your photographer is freezing this moment in time for you. She is a very important part of your wedding. So it is a very good idea if the bride and groom share their dream with the photographer.

Norland Estate Wedding Album [Raiven & Jonathan]

Norland Historic Estate wedding album

Weddings at The Norland Historic Estate Venue are some of my favorite to put into albums! I was so excited to receive Raiven and Jonathan’s Norland Estate wedding album after they chose their final images. Their autumn wedding day featured gorgeous warm tones that went perfectly with a chocolate brown design, brown leather spine, and brown cloth bag. I really love how many full page spreads we were able to work into the design.

This is an example of the Modern+ Album, one of the albums offered specially for weddings.

Lethbridge autumn wedding album

I was so excited to finally receive Dan and Deb’s autumn wedding album from their wedding last October at the Bethel Free Reformed Congregation. We went with a darker layout to reflect their wedding colours of gray and navy and it really ties everything together. This album will be such an amazing family heirloom for them!

This is an example of the Signature Album, one of the albums offered specially for weddings. This is the second one I’ve had come in with the new case design offered by the company and I love the changes!

Norland Summer Wedding Album [Shana & Henry]

Norland summer wedding album

The Norland Bed & Breakfast is one of my favorite venues in Lethbridge so I loved being able to revisit both of our weddings there from 2016 while doing these couple’s album designs. Shana and Henry’s Norland summer wedding album turned out beautifully and was especially fun to design as they let me take full creative reign and choose each photo that went into the layout (minus, of course, their absolute favorite photo from the gazebo that they chose for the case).

This is an example of the Signature Album, one of the albums offered specially for weddings. The publishing company has improved on the design since I last had my sample album made in this style and I love the textured opening leafs and new fold open case design. I’ll have to get a new sample of this style made very soon!

From Pianos to Power Chords Exhibit at Galt Museum

From Pianos to Power Chords Galt Exhibit

I currently have the honour of having my photography on display at the Galt Museum. Last year I was contacted by curator Tyler Stewart to contribute to his music inspired exhibit “From Pianos to Power Chords” and I eagerly jumped at the chance. Music has been very important to me my whole life, from my first concert at the age of 8, to the various instrument lessons I have taken, to being heavily involved in dance for the last 12 years.

Concert photography is literally the reason I became a professional photographer. What started out as a hobby quickly grew into a passion. It was this passion and the overwhelmingly positive feedback I received from the local bands I photographed that convinced me to switch my major into photography and I have never regretted that decision. It is such an honour after all these years to see my band photography as a part of this exhibit of Lethbridge’s history. A couple of my photos go WAY back… for example, the Grady photo (Gordie Johnson) at the Roadhouse was taken the first day I owned my first digital SLR!

The exhibit runs until April 30 at the Galt Museum and I highly recommend checking it out! My photos here only show off my contribution but there’s so much more on display that paints an amazing picture of the history of music in Lethbridge.
