Nicholas Sheran Wedding Portraits in Lethbridge [Katelyn & Brendan]

Katelyn and Brendan, Nicholas Sheran wedding portraits

Katelyn and Brendan met with me for Nicholas Sheran wedding portraits immediately following their intimate church ceremony. The smoke from BC rolled into Lethbridge during their wedding ceremony, giving the park a dreamy haze by the time they stepped outside for photos. The pink glow from the smoke perfectly complemented their peach coloured roses while their main wedding colour of red provided a gorgeous pop of colour in the haze.

They kept their wedding party small, including Brendan’s own father as the best man. The small size of their group gave me so much time to focus on Katelyn and Brendan’s portraits. Even better was the fact they got married on a weekday, so we had the whole park to ourselves!

Congratulations, Katelyn and Brendan!

Picture Butte Late Summer Wedding Photography [Makayla & Cornell]

Makayla and Cornell, Picture Butte late summer wedding photography

After photographing many of their family member’s weddings, I was excited to hear Makayla and Cornell were the next in line to wed! We started off their Picture Butte late summer wedding photos at the family’s beautiful property that backs onto the coulees. Just like a few years ago at a sibling’s wedding, the view was very smoky! Luckily the smoke looks amazing in the coulees :)

Their nieces and nephews were (mostly) excited to have a photographer come visit and gave us all kinds of adorable poses! We had quite a few family members tasked with removing photobombing children from photos, and later the dogs and barn kittens started crashing the shoot too!

The Picture Butte Golf Club was very generous with letting us run around the course for photos and explore the grounds with a whole fleet of golf carts.

Makayla and Cornell have such a great group of people they call friends. Like the other weddings, we spent the day in laughter and never knew what silliness to expect when we turned around. They have such great senses of humour and will have an amazing lifetime together making each other laugh.

Congratulations, Makayla and Cornell!

Waterton Sunset Anniversary Photos [Haley & Stephen]

Waterton sunset anniversary photos

Haley contacted me with a great vision for Waterton sunset anniversary photos. She and Stephen wanted to celebrate their anniversary trip to Waterton by recreating some of their wedding photos! They dressed very similar to their wedding day with one exception: Haley’s original wedding dress had been stolen during a break-in, and she managed to track down a nearly identical dress. Luckily they scheduled just days before the smoke got bad so we were able to get amazing views of the mountains with only a little bit of haze. After we finished in the town (which has a crazy early sunset thanks to the mountains!) we drove to the lookout to take full advantage of the setting sun.

Bayshore Inn Ceremony and Readymade Wedding Reception [Sarah & Matthew]

Sarah and Matthew, Bayshore Inn Ceremony and Readymade Wedding Reception

Matthew wanted to give his bride-to-be Sarah a proper tour of his home town area when they travelled here for their wedding. They hit the best of everything with a Bayshore Inn ceremony and Readymade wedding reception, with getting ready photos in Lethbridge. Arriving for their photos in Waterton was Sarah’s first ever visit to the national park! We all wished for less smoke so Sarah could see how amazing the mountains are, but could catch just enough of them fading into the horizon.

Sarah looked stunning with a classic, romantic look, and Matthew wore his military formal wear. They looked amazing together. Following us throughout the day was their daughter who had so much fun that she couldn’t stop shouting “Yay!”. It was contagious and made everyone around her also exclaim with joy! Sarah and Matthew could not stop grinning at each other and their daughter all day.

After a first look at Cameron Falls, portraits at the Prince of Wales, and an outdoor ceremony at the Bayshore Inn lawn, they and their guests headed closer to home. Their fun reception was held at the Readymade hall where we were joined by all of the guests who weren’t able to make it to Waterton but still wanted to help them celebrate.

Congratulations, Sarah and Matthew!

Waterton mid-week wedding portraits

Ruth and Cory planned Waterton mid-week wedding portraits just before their beautiful ceremony under the mountains. I met with them and their children at Cameron Falls a few hours before their ceremony. Everyone looked amazing! They chose a romantic red theme for their wedding day with tons of gorgeous lace accents. Ruth brought along a lace parasol, wore beautiful white lace gloves, and had a stunning long drape-over veil. Everyone was so happy and excited waiting for the ceremony to come!

Congratulations, Ruth and Cory!

Gorgeous Historic Norland Estate Summer Wedding [Kathleen & Mike]

Kathleen & Mike, gorgeous Historic Norland Estate summer wedding

Kathleen and Mike planned a gorgeous Historic Norland Estate summer wedding over the August long weekend. Their wedding embodied summer with bright colours and lemonade!

When Kathleen enlisted her sister for help planning the wedding, any indecisiveness eventually led to her sister Googling “grandma wedding” for the perfect inspiration. Kathleen did all of the cross-stitching that was on display at the wedding. This included table cloths, table numbers, artwork, special charms for each bridesmaid, and even a rocking chair! Family members helped out with other details, including their beloved lemonade stand which was created by Kathleen’s brother in law.

Family played a very important role in their wedding day. Both of their mothers witnessed the marriage certificate, and their daughter had the most important role as maid of honour. On the way to the Norland, Kathleen and her sisters made a detour to the cemetery to visit their father. They kept their eyes mostly dry by bringing a dance party to dad as they delivered his boutonnière!

Between all the silly faces, the constant dance parties that would break out, and Kathleen and Mike’s amazing love for each other, we had such a fun day with them and their friends and family.

Congratulations, Kathleen & Mike!
