Henderson Lake Couples Photos [Renee & Dhrake]

March 17th, 2020

Henderson Lake couples photos

To celebrate their 5th anniversary, Renee and Dhrake had cute Henderson Lake couples photos done. Renee booked with me during our streak of -20C temperatures but we lucked out on their actual photo day. Despite still being January, it was like a sunny spring day!

Dhrake and Renee are adorable together and it didn’t take much to get them giggling and staring lovingly at each other. The couple came to Lethbridge together to both finish their schooling. They are so lucky they choose programs where they could be so close together!

Lethbridge Dance Performance Photos [An Explosion of World Dance 2020]

March 12th, 2020

Lethbridge Dance Performance Photos, Explosion of World Dance and Music by Ammena Dance Company

Cam once again rocked his Lethbridge dance performance photos of Ammena Dance Company’s 2020 show An Explosion of World Dance & Music. It’s so great to have him involved in my hobbies!

If you saw the poster from the show, you already knew there would be a bunch of retro elements going on. This year we had an American Bandstand theme with our show’s host, Gary, interviewing various dancers between each piece.

Everyone did an amazing job, especially the show’s creator and choreographer Lise-Anne, and the Yates Memorial Theatre’s lighting tech Rob.

p.s. I make a few appearances in this post. Can you spot me?

Lethbridge Accounting Staff Headshots [Shaw & Associates]

March 10th, 2020

Lethbridge accounting staff headshots, Shaw & Associates

When I first planned out a photoshoot with Shaw & Associates Chartered Accountants, they had been using mismatched cell phone photos on the staff portion of their website and wanted a more cohesive, professional look. We set out downtown to update their accounting staff headshots to give the photos a natural, approachable feel. I based their wardrobe suggestions off of the colours of their website and they did a great job coordinating so many people’s outfits. Every staff member now has a matching photo on their site that compliments the design. Even Chase, their office greeter dog, got a headshot of his own for the website!

Norland Estate 1920s Themed Wedding [Kaylene & James]

March 5th, 2020

Kaylene & James, Norland Estate 1920s Themed Wedding

Kaylene and James held a Norland Estate 1920s themed wedding on the most memorable date of 2020 – the leap year! The girls rocked the vintage look the best of all with beautiful head piece jewellery and lots of fringe. Kaylene added a stunning beaded piece to her open backed wedding dress to tie everything together. They even loaded up on discount Halloween items the year before to supply their reception with themed props for their guests to wear!

We started the day at James’ parents’ acreage, then headed to the Norland where the girls were getting ready. I love that the Norland has such beautiful space to use for photos inside the house so we could protect everyone’s hair from the wind as much as possible. (If you were wondering why this winter wedding looks a lot like spring, the usual wind is to blame!)

Their couple’s portraits took place just as twilight was setting in and the pretty stringed lights around the Norland property had just turned on (which is so amazing for photos). Once away from the distraction of their guests, the sweetness of James and Kaylene’s relationship had a chance to shine. All of their silly faces at each other started to come out!

To maximize the number of guests who could party with them, Kaylene and James reserved the dinner time exclusively for their extended families and had the rest of their friends show up later in the night. Instead of staying for the big crowd, we planned a private fake first dance while they had the Norland’s reception room all to themselves! It’s pretty exciting being able to tell a couple directions as they are dancing ;)

Congratulations, Kaylene and James!

Nicholas Sheran Family Reunion Photos [Bonnie & Her Family]

February 27th, 2020

Nicholas Sheran family reunion photos

For Bonnie’s birthday, her family traveled from far and wide to celebrate. After Ribfest changed their original location plans, they decided to have a Nicholas Sheran family reunion on the west side. Since much of the family is from south of Lethbridge, visiting the lake was a new experience for many of them and they were so happy with their choice!

After a picnic lunch, everyone changed into their photo clothes for a big group photo. Bonnie was thrilled being around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren! She is so proud of her family. She definitely enjoyed being the focus of the party! Everyone made sure a steady stream of homemade cookies came her way.

After photos it was back to playtime and I stuck around to take candid photos of the family having fun and enjoying the super hot day at Nicholas Sheran Lake.

Children and Pet Photography in Lethbridge [Jacey and Her Dogs]

February 25th, 2020

children and pet photography in Lethbridge

Jacey’s early Christmas gift from her parents was a pet session with her dogs, Stella and Gia. Stella, the tan coloured dog, happens to be Gia’s mother. Despite the age difference, Gia was the one on her best behaviour while Stella had the excitement of a puppy exploring Aperture Part in west Lethbridge.

We started out with more classic posed portraits while we still had the dogs’ attention. Once our safe photos were finished, it was time for action shots! Each dog has her own set of special tricks (Stella’s “gopher” pose and Gia’s dancing were the cutest from each). Jacey’s parents described her as “the dog whisperer” and she was able to get the dogs to do everything we needed for photos!

At the end of the session, both dogs got to let loose with rolling in the leaves and chasing sticks. They did so great considering how crazy the wind was that day. The only signs of it were in their wind-swept ears!
