Pincher Creek Bloomin’ Inn Winter Wedding [Mike & Lanna]

Lanna & Mike, Pincher Creek Bloomin' Inn winter wedding

Mike and Lanna’s Pincher Creek Bloomin’ Inn winter wedding was everything they hoped it would be thanks to the amazing snowy day we had! The Bloomin’ Inn was the perfect venue for the rustic theme they wanted, especially since it’s a working cattle ranch and Mike is also a cattle farmer. While the venue matched their lifestyle, they wanted a different landscape than they are used to seeing and chose to get married closer to the mountains, later having their reception at Castle Mountain.

The weather really delivered to give Lanna the snowy winter day she wanted. Thick snow hugged all of the tree branches, fluffy flakes fell, and not a trace of wind could be found (which is so unusual for Pincher Creek!).

I thought Lanna giggled a lot at their engagement photos, but her wedding day was much more exciting, eliciting endless laughter and huge grins from her! I love how emotional she is and how over the top happy they are together. This postive energy made it easy to hike through several feet of snow to find the prettiest spots on the ranch, and Lanna came prepared with her big boots.

After having their first look out in the snow, their guests started to arrive for their ceremony inside the Bloomin’ Inn.

Congratulations, Mike and Lanna!

Gate Lethbridge Autumn Wedding [Graham & Andrea]

Andrea & Graham, Gate Lethbridge autumn wedding

I’m so happy Andrea and Graham kept me in mind so long for their photography and I was able to photograph their Gate Lethbridge autumn wedding! Despite the many years they have already been together, their love feels so fresh and new and I love how sweet and emotional they are together. It’s just too bad their kitty Henry couldn’t have been in the wedding party ;)

Their ceremony was held at The Gate in downtown Lethbridge, which was conveniently close to both their portrait and reception locations. They loved the modern, bright feel of Casa so we did most of the portraits inside the art building. All of the colors there worked perfect with the gray suits and purple accents in their wedding attire.

Afterwards they had their reception at Anton’s Ballroom in the Lethbridge Lodge, which was filled with gorgeous natural light on this warm day and, of course, so much joy from them and their guests :)

Congratulations, Graham and Andrea!

Autumn Galt Museum Wedding [Greg & Lasca]

Lasca & Greg, autumn Galt Museum wedding photos

We loved finally starting out the fall season with Greg and Lasca’s autumn Galt Museum wedding here in Lethbridge. They chose a rustic theme with blues and whites that looked great against the yellow outside.

After their ceremony in the Galt Museum’s viewing gallery, we were joined outside by their families. Lasca comes from a large family of brothers so it was a really big deal their only sister got married!

We stuck around the museum area while they had fun with their wedding party and their cute little dog Ketta gave them lots of kisses, then headed over to the west side to make use of the changing leaves. I loved watching when Greg and Lasca let loose and acted silly around each other (including a stick sword fight) and everyone was proud of how well Greg did in the spotlight all day when he’s quite shy :)

Congratulations, Lasca and Greg!

Elegant Calgary Catholic Wedding [Evan & Emily]

Evan & Emily, elegant Calgary Catholic wedding photos

It’s impossible to talk about Evan and Emily’s wedding without first addressing all the crazy little things that went wrong that day. Between rain, incorrect church readings, and car accidents (to only name a few), each new thing that came up had us shaking our heads and feeling piling sympathy for this sweet couple. However, what mattered in the end was that the overall love and happiness of the day overpowered the trivial things and they still had such a beautiful, elegant Calgary Catholic wedding.

Every time Emily looked at Evan, you could see her stress melt away as she shot him her beaming smile. I quickly learned that asking them to look serious in any photos was a challenge ;) They are so supportive of each other and true equals in their relationship.

We already knew the kindness and warmth of Evan’s family from when we photographed his sister’s wedding several years ago, but Emily’s family easily matched that hospitality! (Though the long running joke through the reception is that Evan’s family wins in the quantity of happy tears they cry.)

Congratulations, Evan and Emily!

Racehorse Creek Outdoor Wedding [Freddie & Stef]

Freddie & Stef, Racehorse Creek outdoor wedding

Freddie and Stef wanted their laid-back attitudes and love of the outdoors to come through when planning their big day and fittingly decided on a Racehorse Creek outdoor wedding at one of their favorite camping and dirt biking locations.

They chose a gorgeous clearing in the Racehorse Creek area just north of the Crowsnest Pass where all of their friends and family could camp for the weekend celebrations. Of course they brought along all of their “toys” and even included their dirt bikes in the wedding :)

Stef was jaw-dropping in her corseted dress. All of the tears and laughter shared between her and Freddie throughout the day made it so obvious how in love they are.

Their day brought a sampling of all of Alberta’s weather: smoke, sun, wind, rain, and concluding with a dramatic sunset so beautiful that they quickly changed back into their wedding clothes to take advantage of it.

Congratulations, Freddie and Stef!

Picture Butte Country-Inspired Wedding [Jeremy & Emily]

Jeremy & Emily, Picture Butte country-inspired wedding

We were thrilled to join Jeremy and Emily for the afternoon for their Picture Butte country-inspired wedding. They rocked a classic wardrobe in the beautiful rustic locations we visited.

We met up with Emily and Jeremy just after their family lunch. Jeremy’s family home was gorgeous and had amazing views of the coulees in Picture Butte, made even more dreamy with the smoke that hung in the air. The bridesmaid dresses and bouquets offered a stunning pop of color against all of the subdued tones from the smoke.

Their bridal party members all brought along their partners (some of whom were also in the bridal party) so everyone had fun as we drove around to the photo spots, especially when we reached the playground and the silliness came out.

Emily and Jeremy were so romantic around each other and so in love. When Jeremy said it was getting hard to keep smiling, we had him look at Emily and everyone exclaimed that it was easy now! ;)

Congratulations, Jeremy and Emily!
