Lethbridge PAW Society 2020 cat calendar fundraiser

This year I decided to highlight all of the 2020 Lethbridge PAW Society calendar cats in one big post, rather than a bunch of smaller blogs that I tend to forget to share on social media! Lots of kitties ahead!

This year’s calendar had a sports theme so I focused on getting action shots of any cats who had the energy and a favourite toy. We had some hilarious results! Whether thanks to a piece of string or a good hit of catnip, some of these cats went wild for their playtime!

All kitties are adoption success stories from the Lethbridge PAW Society and were photographed in their loving forever homes.

pet photos with Santa in Lethbridge

It’s always wonderful when Santa Paws comes to town! We continued our new annual tradition of pet photos with Santa at the Bone & Biscuit location in Crossings in west Lethbridge. This year we raised $700 for Misty Creek Dog Rescue!

We had a few repeat visitors from last year, plus lots of new whiskered faces. Our smallest visitor was Buttons the hamster, while our largest (and by far the most terrified) was the Great Dane puppy. We only had one hissing cat (pictured below), one crying child (also pictured below), and one potty accident (fortunately NOT pictured below).

Thank you to everyone who came to visit Santa and support this great cause!

Adoptable Puppy Photos in Lethbridge [Bean & Belle]

Lethbridge adoptable puppy photos

What’s better than one adoptable puppy? Two, of course! Bean and Belle are a doggy brother and sister duo who took a fun trip with their foster mom to Henderson Lake for their adoption photos. The two most enjoyed munching on leaves, especially Belle who was hard to catch without a mouthful! (Bean, on the other hand, was more into pine cones once he discovered those.)

Belle stood out the most for her sweet, soulful eyes, while Bean’s spunky personality and giant paws gave a glimpse into the energetic big boy he’s going to become.

Bean and Belle were photographed for the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS), but were no longer listed only a few weeks after I met them. They must be bringing so much joy to their new families!

2019 Lethbridge MS Walk

I was happy to return for my fifth year of photographing the Lethbridge MS Walk, held by the Lethbridge MS Society.

It definitely started out as one of the coldest walks I’ve attended! Despite the cold, the walk still had fantastic attendance and all participants were in great spirits. Before the walk the kids were kept entertained with balloons, face painting, and all the adorable dogs that attended the fundraiser. The children’s joy in turn was contagious!

Right as the walk began, the sun came out, warming up everyone enough to get their muscles moving. I quickly found my usual golf cart friend and had a great time capturing everyone having fun at Henderson Lake. The walk ended with its usual pizza lunch and still more sunshine, just narrowly missing the blizzard that arrived later that day!

2018 Lethbridge MS Walk at Henderson Lake

I was honoured to be asked to return for my fourth year of photographing the Lethbridge MS Walk, held by the Lethbridge MS Society. This year’s walk was held at Henderson Lake again, giving participants beautiful views of the water and Canadian Geese during their walk. This was probably the warmest year they’ve ever had for the walk and had amazing attendance as a result, including both newcomers and long time participants.

As usual, I had an amazing time photographing the event. The organizers do a fantastic job making sure all participants and volunteers are healthy and looked after. I had a golf cart friend again who sped me around the participants (and around the many, MANY geese at the lake) so we could capture as many moments as possible during the walk and at the festival area before and after.

Night To Shine 2018 in Lethbridge

Night to Shine 2018 in Lethbridge at the Victory Church

Night to Shine is a huge party held for special needs people so they can feel like celebrities! From the moment they enter on the red carpet, they are met by the paparazzi and cheering fans. Once inside, they are treated to complimentary hairdressers, makeup artists, shoe shines, delicious food, and endless dancing. The event is only held in select cities so it was wonderful to have it in Lethbridge for 2018!

Myself and several other photographers volunteered our services for the evening. Once the limo rides (graciously donated by California Dream Limo) started up, I was on limo duty and had so much fun cruising around the parking lot with everyone! Back inside, the dance floor was constantly packed right up until the last song. I loved seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces!
