Lethbridge Spring Wedding Photos [Ben & Sheila]

Ben and Sheila, Lethbridge spring wedding photos

Sheila and Ben joined us for their Lethbridge spring wedding photos just after their ceremony on what could have been a rainy day… but as luck would have it, it stopped raining exactly just during our scheduled photo time!

I don’t think I have ever laughed this much from a wedding party before. They wore blankets as scarves, high fived a jogger in the coulees at every bend in his path, the girls ran up the coulees in heels, one groomsman managed to get a girl’s phone number downtown in between photos, and everything finished with endless airplane puns at the appropriate time (though most of those came from Cam once they got going!). Seeing as how I first knew Sheila and Ben for their hilarious piggy back rides, it shouldn’t have been a surprise that they are such a fun group!

We started our photos in the coulees, now a saturated green from all the rain, then headed downtown to some of the most beautiful old architecture. Sheila and Ben have such a romantic, deeply passionate look when they interact with each other and these locations really accented those feelings.

Our last location was a fun one: the airport hangar! Even though we ended up not needing to escape any rain, it was such a great spot to take photos.

Congratulations, Ben and Sheila!

Lethbridge Mommy and Me Session [Destiny & Tiffany]

Lethbridge Mommy and Me Session

Tiffany and Destiny had a special Lethbridge mommy and me session for their spring blossom mini-session. Their summery dresses were perfect in the pretty pink flowers and Destiny was so happy to get to play with her mom on this gorgeous warm day… even if it was right after nap time! The fallen petals were especially interesting even if my sound effects were not ;)

Downtown Lethbridge Engagement Photos [Andrea & Graham]

downtown Lethbridge engagement photos

I had a great time working with Andrea and Graham for their downtown Lethbridge engagement photos, especially because we made the bold decision to include their cat Henry in a few photos. I had already met Henry a few times when I photographed him for the Lethbridge PAW Society, and for their session he was at his most dapper in his blue bow tie! Seeing as how you can’t really tell cats what to do, he was a great little model, even if he was a little distracted by the birds ;)

After he was safe at home, I headed downtown to City Hall with Andrea and Graham and I am grateful they climbed on fountains and in trees for me! They were amazing models and I can’t wait for their wedding this autumn.

Birds of Prey Centre Alternative Wedding [Donovan & Brittany]

Donovan & Brittany, Birds of Prey Centre alternative Wedding

In what might be one of our most unique weddings of the year, Brittany and Donovan held an Alberta Birds of Prey Centre alternative wedding amongst all of the adorable ducks, owls, and eagles in Coaldale! Brittany loves animals and when they were looking for a unique, rarely used ceremony location, the Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation was a perfect fit.

They had an emotional and happy wedding there with their closest friends and family and then got to play with some ducks and owls before we headed back into Lethbridge. The post office building downtown was a perfect location for their subdued, cool wedding hues (and Brittany’s rad hair) and she rocked her tattoos with her wedding dress while Donovan sported his awesome trademark mustache.

They were a hilarious group to spend the day with and were such wonderful hams in front of the camera. :)

Congratulations, Donovan and Brittany!

Galt Museum Summer Wedding Photos [Andrew & Kristen]

Andrew & Kristen, Galt Museum summer wedding photos

Andrew and Kristen planned a very classic, stylish event for their Galt Museum summer wedding photos. Most ceremonies at the Galt take place inside the museum but the couple wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous view of the coulees on the bluff outside. They had the absolute best luck that day, finishing their ceremony in the sun and all photos just before the big storm moved in.

They planned their outdoor ceremony and Galt reception close together so their guests could go straight to cocktail hour. To make the best use of our time, we met up with each part of the wedding party just before the ceremony. No one needed warming up for photos; they all had us laughing immediately!

We loved working with Kristen and Andrew for their photos. They are SUCH a gorgeous couple and looked stunning in Kristen’s high back lace dress and Andrew’s navy suit.

Congratulations, Andrew and Kristen!

Spring Apple Blossom Portraits in Lethbridge [Katt]

spring apple blossom portraits in Lethbridge with Katt Panic

As soon as the beautiful pink spring apple blossoms appeared, I quickly called up Katt Panic (the amazing local makeup artist) for some portraits. Between Katt’s trademark pink hair and her gorgeous pink cherry blossom arm tattoo, she was a perfect fit to stick up in the blooming trees! Katt of course did her own hair and makeup (even if the wind fought the look she aimed for) and was a wonderful model. It was great to finally get her in front of the camera instead of only doing behind the scenes work!
