Prince of Wales Wedding Elopement [Ryan & Becky]

Ryan and Becky, Prince of Wales wedding elopement

It’s already an honour to be asked to take part in such memorable days in people’s lives, but even more so when that day is exceptionally intimate. Becky and Ryan travelled to Waterton all the way from the Eastern US to have their Prince of Wales wedding elopement. Only the two of them, myself, and their officiant were present for the beautiful ceremony. (I won’t count the group of tourists yelling about a bear in the distance… they were far enough away!) They took their time to take in the scenery, sharing many quiet moments together most couples don’t have a chance to experience during their ceremonies.

It was such a still day behind the Prince of Wales Hotel, the first time this year I’ve been lucky enough to experience this! They could not have asked for more perfect weather. After their ceremony and a few photos around the hotel, we headed over to Red Rock Canyon. Not being from the area, they trusted me to choose our photo locations and I knew I made a good choice when they first approached the canyon and exclaimed, “Wow!”

As much as they have a quiet, nurturing presence around each other, they also have a silly side that I loved to see. Their hiking boots were a perfect touch to bring their interests into the photos AND make climbing into the canyon that much easier.

Congratulations, Ryan and Becky!

Galt Museum Outdoor Evening Wedding [Brian & Margot]

Brian & Margot, Galt Museum outdoor evening wedding photos

Brian and Margot’s Galt Museum outdoor evening wedding was almost rained out. After a beautiful day, a huge rain storm passed through Lethbridge only an hour before their wedding. The Galt Museum was very accommodating and let them get married inside instead, but with a bit of patience and hope, they were able to have the outdoor ceremony they had dreamed of when the sun came out only moments after their scheduled start time!

They had a very intimate wedding with only their children in attendance but the amount of happiness was huge. Margot and Brian were so joyful that they could hardly stop laughing all night!

Congratulations, Brian & Margot!

Lethbridge Summer Elopement [Tammy & Todd]

Tammy & Todd, Lethbridge summer elopement

Tammy and Todd had a Lethbridge summer elopement of sorts – a small, intimate wedding that only a handful of their closest family members knew about, which gave them a chance to surprise the rest of the family a few weeks later! They chose a beautiful day at the start of summer to have their wedding with not a gust of wind or a mosquito in sight.

After having their ceremony in their backyard, I met with them and their family in Pavan Park for their family photos and then wedding photos of just the couple. Tammy looked amazing in her fitted lace dress and I loved the touches of purple they worked in to their wardrobe.

Congratulations, Tammy and Todd!

Lethbridge Backyard Wedding [Kelly & Emily]

Emily and Kelly, Lethbridge backyard wedding

What started out as a Hawaiian themed engagement party eventually turned into a Hawaiian themed evening backyard wedding at Emily and Kelly’s Lethbridge home. Emily had her dress and since invitations had already been sent to their family and closest friends, they decided to take the plunge a little early!

Their party started just before sunset, giving their ceremony a gorgeous glow as it went into twilight. They did a spectacular job decorating their yard for the event and ended up with a gorgeous ceremony location. The service was so emotional with lots of laughter and happy tears. It was wonderful to be a part of such a happy event :)

The evening was full of dancing, coconut and pineapple flavored treats, and everyone having an amazing time celebrating the couple.

Congratulations, Kelly & Emily!

Lake Louise Snowy Winter Wedding [Alex & Erika]

Alex and Erika, Lake Louise snowy winter wedding

I adore tiny, intimate weddings and Erika and Alex had the ultimate: a beautiful Lake Louise snowy winter elopement, planned at quite the last minute. With less than a week’s notice (and the day after moving, no less), Cam and I were on our way to Lake Louise to capture the couple’s gorgeous day.

Their ceremony was held at the classic Deer Lodge near the lake and the rustic feel of the hotel was a perfect compliment to Erika’s vintage sense of style; she would have fit in perfectly when the lodge first opened! I loved the contrast to Alex’s modern look of his slim fitting gray suit and matching high-tops.

Erika was hoping for a winter wonderland and she definitely got it! After a very frigid week, Lake Louise warmed up just in time for their wedding photos but not so much that any snow melted away. Even the ice castle was still left standing on the lake. Between the lodge and the lake, we had no shortage of photo opportunities.

Their ceremony was beautiful and quiet, and their officiant took her time to make it that much more special. We were so happy to be able to take part.

Congratulations, Alex and Erika!

Stacey and Danny, Intimate Waterton Mountain Wedding

Danny and Stacey came all the way from Manitoba for their dream intimate Waterton mountain wedding, and they had such a perfect day! With only their parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews in attendance, the ceremony was really quiet and meaningful, and they choose such a beautiful day (no hail storms for once!). They were awesome to work with, especially since Stacey was totally up for scaling the rocks in Red Rock Canyon!
