rural Alberta extended family photos

Before one of their children moved away, Luke and Lammie wanted to get the whole family together for a big summer portrait session. Their own farm made the perfect spot for their rural Alberta extended family photos. We had no shortage of locations with their beautiful garden rows, huge trees, and nearby fields… with just a few ant colonies to watch out for ;)

All of the siblings had so much fun goofing around together and after Lammie stuck her tongue out at Luke, you could tell where the kids get it from! The little kids were absolutely adorable and loved spending time at grandma and grandpa’s house for the afternoon.

Lundbreck Falls family photos

Tammy and Kirk had all of their kids down for the long weekend and decided it was time for some updated family photos at their house near Lundbreck Falls. They have a beautiful property overlooking the mountains so we had no shortage of gorgeous backdrops! They are such a warm, welcoming family and it’s clear they have a great time with each other every moment they are together.

Fun Lethbridge weddings and portrait photography

I hadn’t seen all of Don and Linda’s family together since Julie and Andrew’s wedding many years ago, but now there are lots of little kids involved too! Right after Cathryn and Jon’s wedding (where Julie was also a bridesmaid), we drove a little further south to Edmonton for their family photos with all three generations. Ryan and Jenn’s boys were so happy and full of energy and loved playing with everyone. This was my first time meeting Julie and Andrew’s new baby Evelyn, and I couldn’t get over how much she looks like Andrew! :)

We chose a park nearby Don and Linda’s house and all of their kids drove down for the day to visit. Behind the scenes there was lots of singing, flying sock monkeys, and strange sound effects to get the kids excited ;)

Fun Lethbridge weddings and portraits

Linda and Ed were going to have the whole gang together in Lethbridge for one weekend and decided that was the perfect time to get some extended family photos done! Linda’s parents’ farm on the edge of the city provided us with a fun, unique, and meaningful location with so many neat spots to use (my favorite being, of course, the awesome old truck!). We had to be a little careful getting around, though… this was the day of the big snow melt and most of the property was covered in several inches of water that couldn’t absorb through the frozen ground! Luckily we found some helpful pieces of plywood that worked as platforms in the trouble spots.

The family was so fun and joking together the whole time, plus Ed used to develop photos so we had a few things to chat about! My favorite connection was definitely between Austin and his sisters… the little girls clearly look up to their big brother and were so happy together!

Henderson Lake extended family photos

Steve & Ann celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a visit from their whole family and finished off the weekend with Henderson Lake extended family photos. Both of their sons brought their families down from Calgary, along with all the grand kids and great grand kids! Everyone had so much fun playing with the little kids, who totally made their great grandparents light up with joy. We were super lucky that the rain held off until we took the last photo!

Here’s to another 60 more years :)

Lethbridge Christmas family photos outdoors in winter, hillbilly theme

So fun! Lori and her family decided to do a hillbilly theme for their Christmas photo session once everyone made the journey into Lethbridge. I loved their moonshine bottles, the old style slingshot, and their creative hats (with some Santa hats and tiaras thrown in for good measure)! (more…)
