Indian Battle Park extended family photography

This Indian Battle Park extended family photography session was a Christmas gift that was meant to take place outdoors back in December, but it was -30C the entire time the family was together! They made the wise decision to postpone until spring when everyone could actually be happy and comfortable in the photos. After a heavy rainfall earlier that day, everything was so green and fresh in the river bottom!

Three generations got together for this family session. The middle generation are part of a blended family, so they had both sets of their parents involved. Without my handy list of how everyone is related, it would have been impossible to tell sibling from cousin, sister from step sister, etc. Even all of the people who married into the family get along so comfortably with everyone that it’s hard to tell who is the sibling and who is the spouse! Everyone makes up one tightly knit family despite moving away, having children of their own, and seeing less of each other. This was such a great environment for the little kids who were happy to run to anyone there for comfort!

baby boy Lethbridge newborn baby photography

Kysen did great at his first ever photoshoot! The newborn baby boy slept through the first half of his photography session and then watched with attentive bright eyes at the end. He loved getting snuggles from his mom and dad. A quick cuddle would instantly calm him down whenever needed. This worked out perfectly in our favor to get him juxtaposed with his dad’s tattoos!

warm Lethbridge winter family photos

To celebrate Shirley’s birthday, her children planned a much needed update to their family photos. We ventured out in the warm Lethbridge winter air (warm, at least, for January) in Indian Battle Park, braving the mud and wind from the week’s Chinook.

Her and Kevin’s family is adorable. I appreciated how welcoming they were of the million times I made them hug each other! Shirley and Kevin were even willing to kiss in front of everyone!

Lethbridge indoor winter family photos

If we’re in Lethbridge over the Christmas holidays, I’m always happy to squeeze in families who are together for a few days. Chris and Udo had their daughters visit them for Christmas and took the opportunity to do Lethbridge indoor winter family photos at the University.

Grandma and Grandpa came along too! Grandma had the biggest smiles and was so happy to be around her beautiful granddaughters and their boyfriends.

Udo is significantly taller than everyone else in his family so he was like our anchor in every photo (while the family joked about always having him sit).

West Lethbridge winter family photography

I rang in the new year with west Lethbridge winter family photography of this lovely couple. I photographed their engagement session a few years ago and they’ve now added little Nathan to the family! Nathan is such a huge smiler. Any silly sound and face I made behind the camera had him squealing with delight!

We timed our session perfectly between the beautiful snowfall and wind that carried it away. A herd of deer were enjoying Aperture Park during our visit and Nathan loved watching them. One even joined our session!

Indoor Baby Girl Newborn Session in Lethbridge [Adalyn]

indoor baby girl newborn session

Adalyn’s parents were full of joy as they welcomed her into their household. A few weeks after her arrival, I came over to visit for her indoor baby girl newborn session. It was important we capture the connection between their family so we did lots of snuggly photos. Adalyn was a fantastic model for her first ever photoshoot. She slept through nearly the whole session, making adorable cooing noises and sighs the whole time. If she continues to masters those sounds, she’s going to hold a lot of persuasion over her mom and dad!
