When Denise and Koos planned their wedding, I think they were expecting a little more spring than the winter wonderland they received! The tiffany blue and gray color theme they chose looked gorgeous for their Lethbridge snowy late winter wedding, offering a great compliment to the cool hues and bit of blue popping out of the sky.

After their ceremony at the Lethbridge Netherlands Reformed Congregation, we met with them and their family and luckily could keep everyone inside and warm for their portraits. Next we were off to the Broxburn Cafe who generously let us take a few photos inside to warm up. Everything about that location looked fantastic with the wedding colors and their rustic touches. The wedding party was so awesome about sticking it out in the cold and smiling despite the temperatures!

Denise and Koos were so lost in each other throughout the day that they hardly noticed the cold. Their embraces kept them warm and showed off how sweet and caring their relationship is.

At the end of the night we returned to their reception at the Lethbridge Lodge where they had both hilarious comedy sketches and moving presentations from the family.

Janine and Travis chose a gorgeous day to get married and spent it with all the people who love them the most. Their wedding party was so energetic and happy throughout the day, and always ready to help Janine with her dress. Janine and Travis are so passionate together and I had to be careful not to direct them too kiss too often, because it was hard to get them to stop!

We started off the day with Park Lake summer wedding photos of them and their families. The lake was nice and quiet (except for the mosquitoes) so we got to have free reign of the place.

Everyone then piled in the limo to head to Lethbridge for photos in the coulees (I’m always so impressed with the ease at which the girls travel down in their heels!) and some urban shots in Crossings.

After photographing Sarah and Rylan before as bridal party members, I was so excited to finally see Sarah in her own white dress!

This was a special wedding for their families as both Sarah and Rylan are the first of their siblings to get married. Each set of little sisters was especially excited to get to dress up for this fun day.

After family photos in Picture Butte, we made the drive to Lethbridge to visit Indian Battle Park and finished with Henderson Lake summer wedding photos, complete with popping their first bottle of champagne.

It was so great to get to work with their group of friends again. This was our fifth time working with some of their friends and they are always so hilarious, outgoing, and make the day so special for everyone involved. This particular day we were treated to watching ice cream battles to combat the summer heat ;)

Sarah and Rylan are so amazing together and completely adore each other. I quickly lost count of how many times Rylan would send her into uncontrollable laughter.

I already got to work with Jelaina and Daniel briefly at her sister’s wedding last year so it was awesome to focus on them this time! Following their ceremony and lunch, we started with Picture Butte farm wedding photos at Daniel’s family’s home. They had a beautiful yard with rustic elements and it was a gorgeous day with a perfect mix of sun, clouds, and a breeze.

For their theme they chose an elegant look with soft pinks and grays. It was so classic and romantic! It felt perfect for them; the way they interact is so gentle and caring. Just moments after being silly with their friends and siblings, they can switch to these intensely romantic looks at each other :)

I love going to Waterton for weddings, so it was impossible to say no when Lorelei Hoffarth asked me to help her second shoot Kaitlin and Riley’s wedding there. (Plus Lorelei is awesome to work with!)

I started out the day several hours earlier than I’m used to getting up (and survived!) to capture the guys getting ready in Lethbridge before the limo arrived, then hopped on board with them to the gorgeous national park. They had their Waterton morning ceremony on the cliffs behind the Prince of Wales Hotel and it was such a beautiful day for the wedding. Kaitlin and Riley are a gorgeous couple and judging by Riley’s emotional response to seeing her walk down the aisle, their love is so strong.

Last weekend Cam and I headed to the foothills for Austin and Cyndy’s wedding at Azuridge Estate Hotel in Priddis, just west of Calgary. This was our first time doing Azuridge Estate wedding photography and we were blown away by what an amazing location they chose for their special day. Surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains, tall trees, floor to ceiling windows, and even a dinosaur, Azuridge was a beautiful venue.

Austin and Cyndy have been together for seven years and their wedding felt like a celebration of their relationship and families. Many family members traveled from overseas to join them, filling the event with so much happiness and excitement. It is such an honor to have photographed them so early in their relationship and again for such an important day!

The two of them are still so much in love and look at each other just like any other newlyweds would :)
