Lethbridge river bottom photos

This year I’ve done a bunch of giveaways to celebrate my 10th year in business. Corrine was one of the lucky winner’s of the year’s first giveway! We waited for nice weather, then her and her family decided to do summertime Lethbridge river bottom photos.

Although the family was briefly photographed by me at Corrine’s sister’s wedding, this was the first time in a long time that the focus was on just them! It seemed fitting that this 10th business year celebration coincided with 10 years since they’ve had proper family photos done.

We started out around Lethbridge’s high level bridge in Indian Battle Park, then headed to the river. The kids loved playing there with all the rocks to throw and trees to climb in!

Indian Battle Park winter puppy photos

Barkley’s human dad came up with a great Christmas gift idea for his wife: gorgeous portraits of their new puppy! Barkley made a special trip all the way to Lethbridge for his Indian Battle Park winter puppy photos.

After only a few months, Barkley is already the size of most dogs. There is definitely Saint Bernard and Bernese Mountain Dog in those giant paws of his!

Smoky Indian Battle Park Engagement Session

Isabelle and Andrew probably hadn’t quite planned on a smoky Indian Battle Park engagement session, but we worked with what we had! The smoke from the BC wild fires wasn’t too terrible that day and cast the High Level Bridge in a dreamy haze. They are both such kind people and could not be happier when they look at each other. It took no effort to make them giggle together and they snuck way more kisses in than I gave them permission for. ;) It was great to finally meet them after conversing from a distance and I can’t wait for their wedding next year!

urban Lethbridge yoga portraits

This has been a few years in the making! I have been wanting to do photography that contrasts the human shape with architectural shapes. Lethbridge has some amazing architectural details, some of which are famous like the high level bridge while others are the neat little nooks downtown. For a long time I thought I wanted to do the photos with a ballet dancer, but soon started realizing we have such amazing yoga talent in our city. The project thus turned into urban Lethbridge yoga portraits!

It was a perfect fit to connect with Sarasponda Yoga and combine our visions for this project. Sarah is so talented at her yoga practice and I highly recommend taking classes from her. She completely rocked the vision I had and did amazing work while doing yoga poses barefoot on concrete and steel.

Lethbridge Summertime Playful Family Photos [April & Tom]

Lethbridge playful family photos

April is a total sweetheart who I know through dance, and I was honoured when she asked me to photograph her family. They wanted the photos to be representative of the years they have lived in Lethbridge so we chose the High Level Bridge as a backdrop. It was also important to capture playful family photos with a lifestyle feel and April went all out! Her, Tom, and the boys came equipped with pool noodles and loaded water guns, ready to battle it out at the end of the session. I love all of the joy that came out during those photos!

Frosty Lethbridge Landscape Photography [The West Side]

frosty Lethbridge landscape photography

I always joke that I only take photos with people (or animals!) in them, but I’m always jealous of all the amazing photos landscape photographers take by getting up before sunrise. I did not get up before sunrise, but I did get up early enough on one of our recent foggy days to actually catch the hoarfrost and fog! I set off bundled up to take some frosty Lethbridge landscape photography.

Quickly I learned that it was only foggy for several blocks around my house and everywhere else was bathed in winter sunlight. Luckily the frost still clung to the trees so I wasn’t left cursing being out in the cold for nothing!
