Richard & Crystal, Crowsnest Pass Scottish wedding

We loved taking part in Richard and Crystal’s Crowsnest Pass Scottish wedding this past weekend because, let’s be honest, weddings are awesome when you include kilts and bagpipes! They included Richard’s family tartan in the kilt, bouquet, and fathers’ ties :)

Crystal returned to her hometown for their wedding and started the day getting ready at her family’s house before their ceremony at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Blairmore. Afterwards we headed to the Miner’s Path for photos before sending them back to the church’s basement for their reception.

Richard and Crystal are such a perfect match for each other. They both have such positive attitudes and love to joke… we got to watch them make each other laugh all day! Their friends in the wedding party were the same and by reception time, everyone was so happy dancing and socializing.

Congratulations, Richard and Crystal!

Trent & Veronica, Lethbridge wedding photos

What happens when you combine kilts, light sabers, and a Buddhist temple? Trent and Veronica’s wedding! The two of them planned such a fun little wedding that perfectly showed off their unique personalities (including many references to Trent’s geeky interests – that’s why I’m friends with him, after all!). They are so adorable, and the love between them so obvious (especially in Veronica’s beaming smile all day).

After their ceremony at the Lethbridge Buddhist Temple (where they exited under light sabers, of course!), they danced all night with their family at the Lethbridge Lodge – first with their choreographed dance they took lessons for, and then to the live music of Bandemonium.

Congratulations, Trent and Veronica! (more…)

Andrew & Julie

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

It was such an honor to get to photograph Andrew and Julie’s wedding. I’ve known both of them since before they even dated, was let in on the proposal so I could video tape it, and now was able to be an important part of their special day. They are two very amazing people and compliment each other so well, and I had so much fun spending the day with them! Their families are generous and crazy like they are and I felt so welcome even though it was my first time meeting most members of the bridal party. Best part, Dino was the MC for the reception!

We have all missed Andrew while he teaches in Japan, and are sad to lose Julie to Japan now too, but I am so happy they can finally be together again! (I’ll have to put Japan on my ‘places to visit’ list.)
