Galt Gardens Grad Photos

I can’t believe how much he’s grown up! I first met Jarred for his family photos around 6 years ago, and now that he’s graduating high school, he’s gotten a little older! Jarred has become quite the model and was so photogenic I barely had to do any directing for his photos. His mom made sure to keep some distance from the photo shoot so she wouldn’t cry too much ;)

We started out our session in Galt Gardens on a beautiful, warm evening, then headed over to Casa for some indoor grad photos. The blues in Jarred’s suit (and socks) looked so great with all of our locations.

Lethbridge 100 year old man portraits

I was originally contacted by Ray’s granddaughter who was looking for photos to celebrate a VERY special occasion: her grandfather’s 100th birthday! Ray is obviously an amazing man, and there’s no way you can tell his age by looking at him. He’s still so sharp and able! He may not have been keen on the original idea, but once we got out to the Galt Museum he was a wonderful model! (more…)

Alex | Lethbridge Grad Photos

Saturday, July 21st, 2012

When Alex recently graduated high school, his mom organized all the visiting family members into one big photo session to celebrate them all coming together and commemorate Alex’s big achievement. Although they described themselves as “nutty”, they were a ton of fun to work with, and I appreciate how patient Alex was with all of them! :) (more…)

Steven | Lethbridge Film Noir Portraits

Saturday, March 10th, 2012

I was pretty excited when Steven came to me with the idea he had for photos to send to his family overseas – he wanted to do an old style, film noir shoot. I love my job! I had recently picked up some new lighting equipment and this was the perfect time to really put it to the test. Steven was an exceptional model, despite his claims that he didn’t know what to do and felt silly. I guess it makes a difference when you put a suit on someone! (more…)

Adam in Las Vegas, THEhotel

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

I am veeeeery late on editing and posting these, but thrilled to finally get them up here. Back in September I alluded to working with a Utah photographer who could easily be David Bowie’s lovechild (everywhere he went, anyone who met him would exclaim how much he looked like Bowie, which I imagine gets pretty tiring after a while!). Adam met up with me for a fashion shoot in the lobby/bar at THEhotel in Las Vegas, and we got a solid 35 minutes in before security put a stop to it. Considering I’ve been told to move at least every 10 minutes to prevent that from happening, I think we fared pretty well!

THEhotel is gorgeous and when I first saw it a few years ago I instantly wanted to work with a model in there. Adam was a perfect (and very dapper) match. I was hoping to likewise model for him, but we ran out of time. Hopefully at next year’s Photoshop World! (more…)
