Mitch and Kara, a Lethbridge Wedding

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Kara and Mitch were married a few weeks ago at a beautiful sunny ceremony in Pavan Park with their closest family and friends in attendance. I had a fantastic time with them because they put the utmost trust in me and did anything I told them to for the sake of photos! (I made them “work for it,” Kara told me with satisifaction in her voice.) They were kind enough to let me drag them out to Monarch for the majority of their formal photos, and I’m so glad we went there because that is one of the most diverse towns I have ever seen for locations!

I was also pleasantly surprised to find someone I’ve known for a few years in their bridal party – Lethbridge is small like that, so I’m actually surprised it doesn’t happen more often!

Kara and Mitch are a sweet couple, and I must say I love Kara’s “kissy face” she often makes.

Thanks to Andrew Suderman for helping out this time around! (more…)

Juli & Dan, a Lethbridge wedding with Indian flare

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

This is probably going to be the longest wedding blog I ever do (so much for trying to narrow these down to under 40 images)! Juli and Dan were married at the end of June at Lethbridge’s gorgeous Norland Bed & Breakfast and had one of the most unique and colorful weddings I have ever been to. Juli and Dan both spent a lot of time traveling in India and adored the culture, and wanted to incorporate it into their day. Everything was so vibrant and beautiful that I nearly ran out of memory cards!

I was especially honored to be a part of this wedding because I’ve known Juli and Dan for quite some time now. Juli is our yoga instructor at Ammena Dance Company, and has also started dancing with us a bit. When I first met Dan, I assumed they were already married because the connection between them was just so powerful! If soulmates exist, that is the perfect word to describe these two; I have never seen two people more suited to each other.

Their wedding was full of excitement and happiness. Everyone danced and smiled all night. Despite us all being eaten by mosquitoes, no one let it get them down. Even when I was done I stayed for another hour and danced! (more…)

Brittany & Jon

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Brittany and Jon’s wedding in Medicine Hat was such a fantastic way to wrap up the wedding season! Jan and I headed out there for what was my first trip to that city (shameful since it’s so close and I’ve lived here for seven years!), and I absolutely loved the architecture and scenery there. I was sad the wedding would only last one day, ha ha.

These two were a dream to work with. Jon is totally a better looking version of Marc Anthony, and Brittany is so cute and bubbly and I just wanted to take her home with me in my pocket :) I had such a great time with them and their bridal party, and the day totally flew by.

I’m trying to stop doing 50 image blog posts, so I forced myself to strip this down to just over 30… but to do that I left all the pre-ceremony, ceremony, and reception photos in the slideshow! Oh my, it was so hard to narrow down photos of this smokin’ hot couple!

Alisa & Chris

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Alisa and Chris’s wedding was one I had been looking forward to for quite a long time, since they were one of my earlier bookings for this year’s weddings and I had such a great time with them earlier this summer taking their first family photos after their little Eva was born. They chose the Norland Bed and Breakfast as their ceremony, getting ready, and weekend retreat location, and I couldn’t have been happier as this is one of my favorite places in Lethbridge! Not everyone is so blessed to have a huge white, pillared mansion with a grand piano to call their own, so it is nice to fake it once in a while ;)

Alisa was a little stressed before the ceremony since she was running a bit behind (which most brides do anyhow), but you could see all her concerns melt away the moment she saw Chris as she came up the aisle :)

We had a beautiful day to work with, and they were surrounded by so much love from their friends and family. Everyone was so great to work with, and I loved that Alisa was willing to yell at people to make my day go easier, ha ha!

I hope you guys are having fun in Vegas! Extra thanks to my second shooter for the day, Andrew Suderman, who was awesome to work with for the first time!
